$550.00 | | Purchased At: | ebay | | Strengths: | one of the nicest looking bikes around(in my opinion), great handling characteristics, simple yet effective suspension design, fairly light weight for a 5" travel dually that's 8 years old(27 lbs), steering precision provided by headshock | | Weaknesses: | suspension sometimes feels unbalanced with 5" rear travel and only 3" front(headshock), cannondale doesn't make them anymore | | Similar Products Used: | giant nrs 1 | | Bike Setup: | mavic crossride wheels, wtb timberwolf 2.3",bontrager titec handlebar, shimano xt/xtr derailleurs and shifters, time atac pedals, shimano lx v-brakes and cranks, fizik titanium saddle, syncros titanium seatpost | | Bottom Line: | not long after i started mountain biking(1992) cannondale came out with the super v design and it was always my dream bike(that i couldn't afford of course). so,when i saw it on ebay for a steal of a price i had to get it. it's everything i ever imagined and so much more. handling is great, suspension works effectively,it looks super cool, and hopefully it'll last a long long time still cause there's not a bike out there currently that i'd rather be riding. the bike originally came with the coda magic cranks which were very light and stiff, but the left pedal threads stripped out so now i'm running the new lx cranks which have a similar bottom bracket/crank design and work just as well in all honesty. if you see one of these frames, it's in good shape, and at a good price i'd definitely grab it. you won't be disappointed! | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

I have a Cannondale M900, it’s a couple of years old now but when bought it was one of their higher end frames. Recently I discovered a place in the frame tubing where the welder or someone at the factory had burnt a hole in the tubing & patched it with bondo. This was then painted over & you could not see it until the paint had chipped away much later. I contacted Cannondale & their field rep informed me that this is a common occurrence at Cannondale & in no way considered a defect. I’ve tried to talk to someone else in the company but keep getting the run-around. That hand-built American quality & attention to detail Cannondale advertises is BULLSHIT!! I WAS SOLD DEFECTIVE MERCHANDISE & THE COMPANY REFUSES TO ACKNOWLEDGE THERE IS A PROBLEM.

I paid a fortune in order to get one of the worst bikes on the market. it only comes in to its own when you have a person under 4 stone riding on it otherwise the spongyness soakes everthing over 5 stone up into the suspension, if you have one, please melt it down and make it into something usefull, like a bar-b-que.!!!!! | Overall Rating: |
