Favorite Trail:Bavington
Duration Product Used:1 Year
Price Paid: $300.00
Purchased At:some dudes garage
Strengths:light. smooth.
Weaknesses:crappy grip shifters. brakes and levers suck. tires were barely decent. stems a little long for me.
Similar Products Used:tons of mountain bikes.
Bike Setup:shimano brakes, specialized tires, shimano trigger shifters. rock shox judy cross country fork, pyramid levers, the brand saddle, everything else stock
Bottom Line:light and rides smooth. some of the stock parts suck.

give it some suspension and some new components and it gets the job done.

not my favorite bike but worth the money

Favorite Trail:single track, jumps, and mud
Duration Product Used:More than 3 years
Price Paid: $250.00
Purchased At:bob's hot bikes (warren pa)
Strengths:cannondale products alone for one, nice paint, ride frame attention and cunstruction as a hole, fast and tight
Weaknesses:no suspension, component solection sucks, brakes wheels, but the tire that it had i could ride every where they were unstopadle even almost bald. no disc brakes could be age though
Similar Products Used:fugi
mongoose (real mongoose not wal-mart junk)
schwinn
haro
all bikes were of the 600 to 1000 level not your average base junk people call mountain bikes (can you say comfort)
Bike Setup:stock frame, marzocchi bam 80 fork, disc front, lx rear, 8spd xt-rhyno lites full xt drive train, 70mm bontrager neck coda bars and brake levers and seat
Bottom Line:buy it for xc riding it is still as light as bikes of 2003 but you will have to put some money around to bring it up to a proper level of kool if you know what i mean dont put a super travel fork on it stay with a 80mm or less the frame was never ment to have a none rigid fork it willo void the warrenty not what you would get one on a 5 year old bike but i havent had a problem and i have dropped easy 4+ feet and not thought twice good luck ride fast see you on the trail

Submitted by Andy Baer a Weekend Warrior from Pittsburgh, PA, USA
Date Reviewed: April 20, 2003
Duration Product Used:More than 3 years
Price Paid: $750.00
Purchased At:West Liberty Cycles
Strengths:Solid Frame. No shocks necessary because of such a flexible yet sturdy frame. Infallible Grip Shifters. Rims strong enough to take the worst abuse possible.
Weaknesses:Bad seat stem...the seat won't stay angled correctly for more than a day or two without needing an adjustment.
Bad Brakes...these brakes are constantly riding the rim. They are over sensitive and not as effective as possible.
Similar Products Used:Specialized StumpJumper
Bottom Line:Great riding bike...definitly one of Cannondales Unsung Heros!
