Favorite Trail:spinal tap
Duration Product Used:3 months
Strengths:Super light
caad 5 frame very strong and rigid
ultra fatty headshock
Disc brakes
Weaknesses:A little pricey
Brakes squeal
Similar Products Used:Cannondale Killer V
Bike Setup:Mavic 317 for Disc
XTR
Coda hubs and brakes
2x9 drive system
Bottom Line:This bike kicks ass! It inspires me to ride harder than ever. I point and it follows. It is very light and I have had no difficulties with it at all. The Headshock is perfect, and if they can quiet down the brakes it will be the perfect Hardtail. Buy one if you can.

Date Reviewed: June 17, 2000
Favorite Trail:Route Twisk
Duration Product Used:3 months
Strengths:Very light bike which enables it to climb willingly. Very quick and agile through technical stuff. Well thought out and tight components, no funny noises on the trail.
Weaknesses:Pretty pricey but no buyer regrets. Coda Expert brake is giving me some annoyances. 1) the rear disc caliper was leaking oil near the outside valve fitting 2) Front brake is leaking oil inside the left brake caliper 3) Really loud squealing when brakes applied?????
Similar Products Used:None
Bike Setup:Large Frame
Bottom Line:If you got the bucks to pluck down and you want a great, light cross country bike this is the one. You'll have to get the brakes tuned initially cause i've had both front an rear fluid leakage problems. Finally I look forward to every weekend ride with my buddies, this is one bike i am pretty proud of owning. Although I would add the lower end Cannondale hardtails are pretty good as well, in particular the F2000(Caad 5) and F3000 (xtr gruppo).

"Agile" bike

Submitted by Todd Palmer a Racer from Kennesaw, GA USA
Date Reviewed: February 10, 2000
Duration Product Used:3 months
Strengths:disc brakes
SUPER light frame & bike
Incredibly rigid frame
awsome adjustable (with lockout) headshock front suspension with a cartridge system (won't come loose)
9 rear & only two front chainrings
Weaknesses:proprietary headshock. Although the headshock is awsome performance wise, you must go to cannondale for parts.
Bike Setup:Large F4000 SL
Bottom Line:Get one!
Stable great handling bike with awsome brakes (front & rear discs). Very light. A great ride.
