Favorite Trail:the Air roughtly 2-3 feet above the ground
Duration Product Used:More than 3 years
Price Paid: $2000.00
Purchased At:Butchikas, Salem, Ma
Strengths:This bike has a super heavy duty frame. Love those grip shifts. I wish they were still common.
Weaknesses:Damn those Coda breaks.... Replace them before they start squealing like an oncoming train. They lost pressure but I filled them back up. After that they never really grabbed that well. Enough to lock the tire up so it was ridable.
After years of use, the Moto headstock needed some grease. Works nice now. But, not spring adjust? Come on, event WallMart bikes have that.
Also, if you try to adjust the seat down too low, it starts to interfere with your rear shock movement.
Similar Products Used:Super V 500
Bike Setup:Replaced front brake with a spare the bike shop gave me.
Bottom Line:A strong bike at has lasted me for going on 9 years. Heavy!!!! but i'm out there for exercise anyway. Stick to downhill and you'l love it.

Favorite Trail:The one I made, KICK ASS!!
Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
Price Paid: $900.00
Purchased At:The bike stop @ mountains edge, Culpeper, VA
Strengths:- rigid frame
- semi plush fork when tuned right
- fun to ride
- light compared to many freeride / downhill bikes
- great to ride downhill plus it does good on climbs
Weaknesses:- The Brakes suck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I almost killed my self with those damb f*!ken brakes.

- wheels don't hold up to the ponding i'm giving to them, but they weren't designed for downhill fun.

- harder then hell saddle, comin' of a drop and landing in that saddle takes big balls, and gives you them ,too! OOW!
Similar Products Used:F200 freeride Raven, frame flexes allot
kona stiny, good deal but this bike was a better one
rocky mountain pipeline, like the cool suspension options
Bike Setup:stock except hayes brakes, SUN S.U.V. Wheelset and Fizik' saddle
Bottom Line:I bought this bike becuase it got good reviews for freeriding. Plus, i knew a Cannondale rep and got a kick ass deal. New bike, no problems, never ridin, just 1 and a half years old, and I got it for more than 1/2 off!! Accorse, the caoda brakes suck XXXXing balls. and you all know what those four X's stand for. thats the only reason for the four flamin' chillis on the value thing, put hayes on it and it would get 6. also I got a deal, so it should of been 5 chillis, but hay, were talking about the bike, not my wierd way to get my way, cheap! Well, I incorage all of you folks to come and get this bike, it's kick ass. plus, i can hold a wheely for longer than ever, just like that guy in New World Disorder. the guy that is doing all those manuals and crap. well, see ya all.

Date Reviewed: February 3, 2000
Duration Product Used:6 months
Strengths:Forks, brakes and supension. It's a work of art.
Weaknesses:Weight.
Similar Products Used:Raven, with lefty
Bike Setup:Stock except for Profile Maniac bars, and computer.
Bottom Line:Kick ass fun bike, and weighty. Soaks up bumps like a motocross bike. Coda brakes work perfect, although it seems like other riders have had problems with it. Best bang for the buck.
Quick way to reduce weight of the bike;
WEAR YOU WATER AND TOOLS.
Beware; this bike gives you balls. I have went over the bars more in 6 months with this bike, than I have all my life. My lap times are faster, and my fun factor has doubled.

Favorite Trail:
YOGI
Duration Product Used:
6 months
Strengths:
Overall the bike works well, the moto fork is the strong point along with the rear fox vanilla RC is easy to set up and adjust.
Weaknesses:
The Brake system is the worst and most dangerous thing ever made. The 900 I bought was set up with the CODA compact disc twin piston models they worked for about 30 days after that they lost pressure and locked up . I went two months without back brakes before Cannondale sent new brakes. They still don't work , the replacement pads last about two weeks if the pads don't separate off the backing first
Bottom Line:When buying Cannondale get your dealer to change the bakes to Hayes before you kill yourself.

Strengths:
This bike rocks, too bad Cannondale is ditching the MOTO fork and using the lefty.
Weaknesses:
CODA brake that came with the bike licked but I got new ones put on and they work like a dream.
Bottom Line:KICK ASS
CANNONDALE PLEASE DON'T ABANDON THIS BIKE
TOO LATE I AM BUYING A KONA

Bottom Line:

I just recently bought this bike and it surely rides great. I had to spend some time adjusting the rear suspension (but who said that it'll be tuned to your liking as soon as you buy it)but otherwise this is another great bike from Cannondale.

Bottom Line:

Nice Ride, the Fork is very rigid and steers where you aim, unlike a lot of other after market crap. It was supposed to be spec'd with Hayes cable disk brakes but due to unavailability of those at the time, mine came w/ a sweet set of CODA disks. The bike is a little heavy, but unless you are racing (buy a hardtail then) the extra weight is worth the performance. Bio-pace my AS#, learn to set your bike up correctly and you wouldn't have any problems.
