$2200.00 | | Purchased At: | Mikes Bikes, Cambridge | | Strengths: | 2001 model (same bike different colour) What a laugh.... We hired a five year old model before we bought this and the later model is more comfortable ( looks the dogs in stealth mother ship matt black) We bought the mt800 & binned the wheels, forks, seats, brakes etc. There is very little we wouldn't attempt on this bike (ground clearance allowing)& many things we can do on this that I can't do on my Superlight, very fast & stable down hill off & on road. Very little flex in frame (for a tandem), Even produces smiles from middle aged ramblers !!!... | | Weaknesses: | Periodic creak from concentric bottom bracket ( I've tried most things), front mech a bit under sprung for a tandem,Post moderne suspension post lasted 700 miles (badly designed) Local dealer is pretty hopeless & there is no Cannondale importer based in UK... my Dutch isn't that good | | Similar Products Used: | Old style Dale | | Bike Setup: | MT 800 frame & running gear except, Hope big un hubs, 48 hole Sun Ryhno rims, xtr front mech, titec post, risers & stem, use rear suspension post, wtb & selle royal arm chair saddles, Marzochi Z1 mcr forks, Hope 180mm Enduro brakes (Go for the newer 220 discs, we've had a scarey four feet down we need to stop this mother over heating experience, 2.1 Smoke,2.1 Mythos (both steel bead) Be carefull of some mtb tyres (i.e. Dart)as on the road the front tyre can roll under the rim under heavy cornering causing some scary slides. | | Bottom Line: | If your both of the same sort of fitness...go for it It's the best ridged tandem out there (creaks an' all) | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |
