$700.00 | | Purchased At: | ebay frame only | | Strengths: | This is the best hardtail that I have ever owned. The frame is as comfortable if not more than any full suspension that I have ridden. | | Weaknesses: | The only problem with this frame is the low bottom bracket. The big ring hits everything and your pedals seem to hit things that most bikes don't | | Similar Products Used: | Kona Exposif and Kikapu Devinci Moonracer | | Bike Setup: | Full XTR Sid Team | | Bottom Line: | This is a great bike to race.Be prepared to hit everything with your big chainring.Looks great and rides better. from Dallas, Oregon, USA Date Reviewed: April 8, 2005 | | Favorite Trail: | Waldo Lake | | Duration Product Used: | 1 Year | | Strengths: | Super light. Supple compared to most hardtails but still stiff when you need to sprint. | | Weaknesses: | No canti mounts if you don't want discs. Designed for a 100mm fork so will handle badly with an 80mm. | | Similar Products Used: | Just about everything | | Bike Setup: | Spinner fork; Magura brakes; Sunrace/XTR drivetrain; SDG I-Beam seat/post; Syntace controls; Kenda Tires; No tubes wheels; DT spokes. | | Bottom Line: | This is one of the best frames available at any price. Combined with the other components it gives me absolute confidence to perform in the most demanding race situations. At way less than 20lbs I don't have to worry about my bike slowing me down. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

from Stillwater, MN, USA Date Reviewed: March 18, 2004 | | Duration Product Used: | Tested or demo'ed only | | Strengths: | Amazingly light (20.5 lbs in 19"). I never thought I would say that an aluminum frame is comfortable, but even in some pretty rough Las Vegas terrain, the bike rode smooth! Exeptionally responsive, handles better than anything I've ever ridden... the ride is absolutely top-notch. I test drove all the fun stuff at the Las Vegas trade show, and this was my favorite out of everything... road, mountain, downhill. I believe this is the first Bianchi mountain bike that compares to the quality of their road bikes. | | Weaknesses: | XTR hydraulic brakes? Adding that bit of weight on a hardtail that could go sub 20? It's debatable because they work so well and have some modulation to them. Marzocchi front fork? Again, more weight for more money... but they are nice when you break them in. | | Similar Products Used: | I've ridden past Bianchi mountain bikes... including their Ti, Steel and aluminum. | | Bike Setup: | Pretty much XTR throughout... STI shifters, hydraulic brakes, drivetrain, and even the wheels. I don't remember exactly what it had for seatpost/stem and such, but I remember it was unique and high-quality. | | Bottom Line: | Absolutely awesome, but by no means a good deal. This bike is great as-is for an weight-weinie XC racer with a lot of money. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |
