The frame seems solid and I like the Marzocchi. Replaceable derailleur hanger came in handy this weekend. Components are ok. Stock tires and pedals on mine were REALLY cheap crap.
Have had trouble with the SRAM 5.0 rear derailleur and can't seem to keep the wheels true (Weinmann 519). I think the bike is good if you look at it as a solid starting point and plan on upgrading the components.
If I didn't get this one so cheap when the dealer closed down I probably would have gone with a Specialized or GT. It is something a little more unique though. Haven't seen many so far.

Besides weight compared to the Keline Bikes I love this bike. Most people here owned Giants and Treks bikes, so I kind of like owning a different brand. It climbs hill well and trail riding is great. For the price I would recommend first time riders to purchase if they can't afford a Trek or Keline.

Just started riding in May. Got a great deal on this bike and really love it. Have crashed a couple of times and the bike just keeps on going. Couldn't see sending the extra money on the big name entry bikes when I was getting the same and sometimes a better setup with the Lynx. If you want a dependable bike for low $ this is the way to go. The only changes I have made are with the shocks and that was based on my weight.

Bottom Line:
The Bianchi Lynx SX is an excellent bike. I had the pleasure of buying one a couple of weeks ago, and it runs great! I had a good discount on the 1998 version, so I'm not so sure about the 99. I do know, that my 98 has RockShox suspension with 65 mm of travel along with it, and very slick gear shifting. The 1999 has Marzocchi Z-3's with 70 mm of travel, which will give a smooth ride. The frame is very sturdy, surviving a couple of crashes so far Bianchi's are very hard to get in my area, and it's something different to get in an area where Trek bikes are sold all over the place. If you find a dealer, test ride it, and you'll be impressed.
