Bottom Line:
There seems to be a lot of b!tching about the bearings here but the issue is the seals or indeed lack of an inboard seal altogether. Regular maintenance will keep them running sweet for years, just take it easy on rocks as the magnesium alloy body material is very, very soft. If you take a corner off you might lose a pin which does reduce the excellent grip. If you're a real pedal thrasher maybe you should be looking a lot higher up the ranks for some with the durability you need. For the rest of us these are a very grippy and comparatively light flattie.

These pedals have great grip (and they have left many divits in my shins), but they are also very brittle. I have already ripped several of the studs out along with the threads so that they can't be screwed back in. I wouldn't buy them again. It also uses the basic cone style bearings and they needed repacking after only a few months. I would say they'd be good for dirt jumping type stuff, but anything where you'll be bashing pedals on rocks I'd stay away.

Good pedals at a good price. They do not have the cartrige bearings like some places advertise. I dont really mind that, because plain ball bearings are super simple to service, just disassemble the pedals, pack it with some waterproof grease, reassemble, and you're good to go. I do that about every six months, and my pedals run smooth as butter all the time. And for the guy who said in his review that his pedals started coming loose on the axle, all you gotta do is snug up the nut that holds the pedal in place. Mine do not have this problem because I routinely check my bike and maintain it. Like I said at the beginning, these are good pedals, made by a good company, and can be had for a small price.

Also as said elsewhere on this page, they are not sealed bearing and I don't believe the body is made of magnesium either. Emailed azonic who said they would change the description on their website - that was atleast a month ago. If anyone knows what the american equivalent of the trading standards council is, give me a shout and I'll make a complaint.
These are crap - weigh about the same as a hippo, crap bearing, not that grippy either - get some V8s and don't bother with these - RIP OFF AT HALF THE PRICE.

Bearings are advertised as being cartridge and clearly are not. in fact the bearings felt tight notchy and dry out of the box. After 6 months of light riding they began to creak and get worse until there was lots of play in them. Its not just my pedals either, my mate bought some and they were the same straight out of the box.
And they look crap. they are advertised as being natural magnesium colour, so why paint them when they are already magnesium? Duh!

These are my first platforms, and I have been really happy with them. The pins are replaceable. They are not as nice as the A-Frames, but find them on sale and you get some bang for your buck. They are good platforms as far as I am concerned, though I am using them for working on jumping skills and sketchy stunts I want the freedom to bail on, not really huge stuff or technical downhill. They are super light. The bearings aren't the smoothest in the world, but for a cheap platform, they're still awsome. If you look for premium quality, you're looking at more money. If you want a little more bite and a nicer machined pedal, look into the A-Frames. For general usage, teh Fusion is hard to beat.
