Price Paid: $1099.00
Purchased At:www.azonicusa.com
Strengths:- strenght to weight ratio
- Romic custom valved rear shock
- 150mm x 12mm rear thru axle
- adjustability
Weaknesses:The only weakness I can think of is it only comes in one size. I'm about 5'10" and it fits me perfect. I would recommend something bigger for someone over 6'.
Similar Products Used:Azonic recoil, Specialized big hit, Iron horse SGS
Bike Setup:888 RC 170mm, eight tracks, Kenda blue groove/nevegal, Hope mono 4's, azonic doublewall bars
Bottom Line:This is a very strong and durable frame for the money. With the adjustable geometry you can dial it in for your own style whether it be downhill racing or freeriding. The custom valved romic is super smooth and works well on everything. The frame and rear shock combo only weigh 11lbs. so it makes building up a race worthy DH bike pretty easy. Overall compared to the horst link bikes I have owned in the past I honestly can't tell much of a difference in the rear suspension action. The horst link rear ends do have less brake jack but not enough to make much of a difference. The four bar on the eliminator actually feels like it sticks to the ground better than my previous horst linked bikes, you just have to watch your braking a little more in the rough stuff. The bottom line is my bike has a 65 degree head angle, 14 inch bottom bracket height and it only weighs 42 pounds, those numbers just scream downhill racing machine!

Strengths:- geometry is fittnig me perfectly
- weight is accurate
- suspenssion works in very good way
- steering and stability of bike
Weaknesses:- durability of frame
- annoying rear disc brake mounts
- often after big drops with 8,5" travel 26" wheel is "scratching" seat tube
- horizontal dropouts
Similar Products Used:none
Bike Setup:Eliminator frame, Manitou Dorado, Hayes Mag 8", Shimano Lx '98 crankset (yaeh, that's true :D), Shimano Tiagra rear deraulier, point downhill handlebar, 26" Halo combat rims, da bomb hubs, da bomb head set
Bottom Line:It is a very nice downhill machine. 8,5 " of travel is really enough to get smooth through rough terrain and 3 meters drops. I was very proud and happy to ride on it. WAS.... because frame is cracking!!! I'm really dissapionted because i'm not a Bender or pro downhill racer like Gracia, Minaar or Peat. I'm using this bike to complete downhill tracks in moderate way without spending all days in the saddle. And i'm shocked that such frame is cracking between main tube and the element which is used to mount rear shoch. The cracks are 5-8 mm long and i think it's obvious that is a conctruction failure. I really think that it's something wrong when a frame for 1200 $ is cracking after 2 years of not so intense using!!!

Strengths:The price! This frame typically sells for around $400-$600 on the net. Where else can you get 8.5" of travel, and a solid linkage design for that price? Another nice thing is the fact that the rear will accomodate a 3.0" tire, making this an excellent canidate for big hit riding.
Weaknesses:Horizontal dropouts totally suck. Its much easier for the rear wheel to be knocked loose. Even if it loosens a little, it will set the disc off camber and squeek like a pig on crack. Also, you have to remove the rear caliper to get the wheel off. I havent had any problems with the rear wheel hitting the seat since I switched to the 24" set-up.
Similar Products Used:Specialized Bighit expert, Santa Cruz Bullit, KHS Dominatrax
Bike Setup:Azonic frame, stem, handlebars, pedals, cranks, seatpost and seat. Marzocchi Monster T, Sun Doublewides (26" front & 24" rear) Nokian Gazzalodi 3.0's, Hayes 8" Disc, blah, blah, blah...
Bottom Line:Again, for the money, you really cant beat it. Its a solid linkage design, and aside from the rear wheel issues, its good for great riding. I've throw myself off plenty of things and the bike still runs like a champ. It aint no Demo 9, but for less than a fifth of the price, its close enough!

Strengths:Its got 8.5 inches of smooth rear travel, its very strong, very sturdy-stable, FAST, a pretty inexpensive frame but better than most out there. Just get an RC shock and with a few twists you can swich from dh to drops ect. Instills confidence.
Weaknesses:I have never had a problem with the frame itself. I have stripped one hanger, but after 2 weeks of riding with out a chain, i got a new one... hills suck

Bottom Line:This bike keeps up with anything, it can take anything. I was very skeptical before i had it built and ridden it. I didnt think a frame this inexpensive could ride as smooth as this. This bike kicks ass. Get this bike if you are looking for a freeride/dh bike that can be taken anywhere

Strengths:Black, Black! Looks sweet, with any parts! Excellent for the money! Strong frame and quality shock!
Weaknesses:You have to undo one of the rear caliper bolts to get the rear wheel off, but how often do you need to take the wheel off!?
Similar Products Used:Marin DH FRS(Team B-17), Specialized Bighit, Kona Stinky Dee-Lux(Built for DH)

Bottom Line:Its an amazing ride, i can't really see the point in spending more on a frame because they don't seem to offer much more! (maybe a little lighter and a 12mm tru-axle on the rear) The sus soaks up everything, big and small! I dont see any problems with the spring weight, I weight 160 pounds and do roof drops and never bottomed out! And with the 90 different sus set ups you can really tune it to your spec and riding style.

Strengths:Burley, strong frame. Plush travel. Rear wheel tracks great, corners great, takes huge hits like a Cadillac.
Weaknesses:90 adjustments is BS. There are probably only like 3-4 for each rider. Chainstay gets torn up easily, BB to high even w/ adjustments.

Strengths:very strong and smooth suspension, supplied with good unbreakable Vanilla RC rear shock
Weaknesses:only one size, unavailability of 90 frame setups instruction, hard to remove rear wheel, weak at the welding near the headset tube, the frame cracked and divided for two pieces
Similar Products Used:scott
Bike Setup:888r, mavic 321, michelin tires
Bottom Line:my average about1500 miles, most of the time urban riding and rare on singles. After I reached the best bike setup for me and have improved my technical abilities I found a tiny crack at the welding between main lowerframe tube and the headset tube. Despite very carefull riding without drops this crack has separated my frame from the fork and it is clearly seen that the welding of aluminum makes this region very weak and breakable. My local dealer refuses to replace it and I have no idea how to reach the main broken frame part.

Strengths:Romic shock works amazingly well ive riden an eliminator without it and it bobs loads but the Romic shock totaly eliminates that when the linkages are set up for progresivness it tracks the ground better than most bikes ive ever riden. doesnt mind being hucked acros 30" road gaps.
Weaknesses:head angle little to steep due to the gay ass junior t fork on the front end lookin forward to getin 888r's on the front. also although the romic is a wicked shock i got a faulty shock and its guna take about 3 weeks for hotlines (uk distibutor) to get it back to me. but the worst thing of all that me and to 2 of my mates (who have coyote dh3's which have exactly the same back end) have found is that the wheel always ends up out of position due to the horizontal dropouts and the fact that my hope bulb hub doesnt reach the washers which are designed to keep it in place.
Similar Products Used:most DH rigs
Bike Setup:Junior t's (for now) Hope E4's, bulbs D321's MRP, Race Face. etc.
Bottom Line:If you like a good value beast of a bike that tracks the ground better than a bike twice its price.
If you buy one get it with hte romic rear shock it doesnt cost any more and it totaly emiminates pedal bob.
look after it and check the bearings because mine are completly bugered and im lining up some high quality ones to go in it but its guna cost loads.

Price Paid: $800.00
Purchased At:Bike Parts Unlimited
Strengths:Can take a beating like the best ones. For the money it’s the best one. The new eliminator is close to 2 grand. I hope they mane a lot of modifications because at a thousand it’s an attractive frame, for 2 grand it’s madness.
Weaknesses:First the 90 positions is bull because they all rub somewhere. I found one that suit me and doesn’t rub so it’s ok in my case. The cable set up, I think it’s not for a DH bike. I don’t want to see them because they get in the way. Better to have them go inside the tubes or something. The chain sits on the chain stay too much. If you don’t put something to cover the frame it will eat chunk of it plus the clink noise that drives me crazy. If you have the chance to get the 5th element shock get it. I weight around 65k that is like 150lbs I think and I all ready had to get my fox shock serviced because it was leaking oil. It’s doing fine now can’t use the compression all the way or it will break. In order to remove the rear tire you have to get the caliper off the frame. I find it to be a pain on the butt. There is nothing seriously wrong with the bike. You have to play with the bike in order to get it to the way you feel comfortable that is all.
Bike Setup:Shimano XT all the way, boxxer, standard DH stuff
Bottom Line:Good buy for the money. Put a nice fork up front like a shiver and hold on tight because you are going to bomb down the hill OX style.

Price Paid: $1000.00
Strengths:nice frame and everything seemed to work well. good welds etc.
Weaknesses:the first thing that i noticed was that i had to run a 38 tooth chainring cos my 44 was ripping chunks out of the frame. another problem is that the chain runs on the chainstays and becaus the b shell is soo wide i cant use any spacers to take my cranks out a little cos the chains at such a bad angle already.but the thing that really pissed me off was that you have to remove the caliper to get the rear wheel off and that theres loads of travel options that dont even work.
Bike Setup:azonic eliminator boxxer teams 321s bulbs m4s raceface bb and cranks azonic bar/stem
Bottom Line:its a great frame, though the only way i find it comfortable is in full travel which means i had change a lot of the bike so it works. big problem is that fact that there seems to be no testing on the frame atall cos theres so many faults and im not too sure if the desigh hasnt just been taken off some other company (check oryx bikes, i think)asides from that its ok but youll have to sort some of it out yourself which i think is a bit poor of azonic

Strengths:Damn Strong. The rear suspension works great, super smooth and active. The settings are very useful to tune the bike for different terrain; either high speed DH at Whistler or technical riding at the Shore, this bike will do it all. If you have $1200 in your pocket, get this bike or the new Exxtension seires.
Weaknesses:No major problems so far. Could use a rear through axle, but I guess it doesn't really need it anyway. Could come with a Progressive 5th element shock instead of a Fox.

Having the adjustability is good, but 90 different settings seems kind of unnecessary.
Similar Products Used:Specialized BigHit (friend's bike)
Bike Setup:Shiver, Azonic BMX cranks, MRP, hayes, Sun's Double Track, etc......
Bottom Line:It is the best DH bike I have ridden so far. The design is simple but works. If you want to do some serious DH or Shore riding but don't want to spend $6000 on a Santa Cruz V10, you should get this bike.

Strengths:This is the best DH frame you can get in the 1000-1600 range. The rear susp is very plush. Fox shock is great although some people say it blows easily. Just don´t lock the compression too much. If it bottoms out easily buy a stiffer spring!!! Very solid. very adjustable and good tire clearance.
Weaknesses:Cant use all the 90 settings. almost 1/2 of the settings rub somewhere.

Bottom Line:Every one who wants a DH frame but doesnt hame more than 1600 should buy this frame. It is excelent, very adjustable and seem very durable. Very stiff rear end and plush. grat shock and with a good fork up front should work great. Just buy it

Strengths:Strong as hell, very adjustable, rigid and the best part PRICE.
Weaknesses:Not even 50% of all the supposed 90 positions of geometry are practical either for questions of geometry or because of suspension ratios, in some the rear tire rubs against the seat tube in full compression.
the headset cups were pressed in very, but i mean very easily so easily in fact that they now can be taken off by hand.

You Know, it just bugs me just to know that it's there.

Strengths:The travle in the rear of the bike is very pure. the frams is also nice and beral. the welds look like there decent but only time will tell. the frame is cheep as hell, for the preformance you get the price is well worth it. it can easly be compaired to frames in the $2000 price range.
Weaknesses:the fact that there is no way to run a through axil in the rear is not cool at all. and the way you have to rout the cables is mesed up. you need to replace the cable stays with ziptyes if you want them to stay put.you also have problems with the 90 different was to ste up the rearend if you fun a 26" tire and a chain ring 40+. its easy to fix those but its a big inconvence to build up a 24" tire and go 38 tooth upfrount. you don't have to do this but it you don't you will have more like 10 setup in the read insted of the 90 promised. the horrizontal dropouts are stupid to. you can't adjust you wheel base with it and you have to take the caliper of to put on the rear wheel.

Strengths:- Cushy smooth ride

- Handling
Weaknesses:- Rear dropouts are straight
- Cable routing could be improved for a DH bike
- Pedal bob
Similar Products Used:Giant, Santa Cruz Bullit, Santa Cruz Super 8, Karpiel Armegeddon

Bottom Line:Don't let the low price fool you. Their are a few bugs to work out but Azonic is already on it.

The travel is super smooth. Quality of craftmanship is very nice. The frame and swing arm are stiff. Handling is very nimble on tight stuff yet tightens up at high speed. A great result of a long wheel base combined with a steeper head tube angle.

Cable routing is a little goofy (it could've been internal)and the rear dropout needs to be changed to a bottom entry because currently you have to remove your disc caliper to remove the wheel.

In my opinion this frame and the Super 8 are the best values on the market.

Strengths:-Simple 4 bar design.
-Cheap.
-The ride feels like a M1.
Weaknesses:-The frame comes with washers for a thru axle hub. Don't get them confused with adapters for a QR hub, like kinds that come with Intense frames.
-Replace the cable tie downs with zip ties.

-Only comes in on e size 16.5 inches.
-Head badge is sticker.
Similar Products Used:Intense M1, Mountain Cycle Shockwave, Giant ATX
Bike Setup:2002 Super T, RaceFace LP cranks, MRP chain guide and other parts to make the bike go Downhill.
Bottom Line:FYI...this is not my bike, it belongs to a friend of mine (Mackbir) who does not know how to use a computer, so I'm posting the review for him.
At first glance you'd think a GT DHI and a M1 made sweet love to produce this thing. Front section of frame looks like a DHI with 4 bar rear end.
Bottom line is the frame is well worth the money spent. Total cost w/o wheels came out to $2900. Not to bad considering I spent $4300 on my M1 w/o wheels!
There is no jacking or stiffenging of the rear end when applying the brakes. There is however more pedal bob than my M1, but that's part of the Super T's fault (way to soft of a spring, but the HSCV should keep it from bottoming, which it has, so far). Can't comment much on the quality since he's been riding for such a short amount of time. The quality of the welding matches that of production line welds.
Only comes in 16.5 inches...must only come in one size to keeps cost down. Anyone over 5'10" might have to look for another frame.
It's not the lightest of frames. Complete bike is around 45 pounds (+/- a pound or two).
The clips that hold the cables to the routers fell of, and there is no routing at the rear pivot (don't know what it's called, the part that the rear shock hooks up to). Had to zip tie the cable to the top adjustment.

The major problems with this bike are 'setup' issues. On the trail you can ride it like Jenna Jameson on Peter North, hard and fast.
Go see Chad at Wheel World in Culver city, he'll hook you up.
