Date Reviewed: April 5, 2004
Duration Product Used:2 Years
Price Paid: $40.00
Purchased At:Performance Bike
Strengths:Cost, Little Velcro strap that keeps your shoe strings from coming untied.
Weaknesses:Maybe durability
Similar Products Used:Cannondale MC 900
Bottom Line:I liked them. They where comfortable and worked well. The plastic plate that the cleats attached to began to tear. Once this started they went down hill fast. If I could have found another pair I would have bought them again. For the price paid and the amount of time I used them they where a bargin.

Strengths:Comfortable, looks good.
Weaknesses:None found so far
Similar Products Used:Shimano shoes
Bottom Line:Hi there, been using this pair of shoes for almost a month and I'm back to give another review on it. So far so good! The shoes have been very comfortable and keeps the feet snug and warm (Singapore has a hot climate). No problems with clipping in or out, in fact its very easy, no hinderance.

Looks are a plus, at least I don't look like some weirdo from outer space when I walk in Mc Donald's to buy food etc. Adidas has a very happy and satisfied customer in me! 5 chillis for an outstanding shoe!

Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
Price Paid: $41.00
Purchased At:Hup Leong
Strengths:Got it from Hup Leong for $70, quite cheap considering its normal price is about $110 upwards!! The reason its that cheap is because its last season's stuff and he's clearing the odd (weird) sizes that are either too big or too small. Its a good thing I've BIG feet!!

I'll do a little review on the shoe. Found it very comfortable to wear, as compared to my previous pair of Shimano shoes. The Shimano design is predominantly long and narrow, and my wide feet were pretty sore initially before the shoes expanded to conform to my feet. The Adidas was very very comfortable. Its top is mainly made of suede and mesh. With rubber toe and heel cups, and reflective detailing at the rear. Wore it in the rain today (no cycling, wore the shoes for dinner at Orchard), was pretty comfortable to walk in, and like I said, looks good too!!!

I tested the shoes on a bike at the shop which had clipless pedals. I found the shoes easy to clip in and out of, nothing to hinder the action.

The weather was terrible!!! It didn't take a minute for my feet to start feeling wet, the rain just seeped through the mesh top. The shoe ain't made of leather, so its reasonable not to expect much water proofing. The insoles don't give much to be confident about. They're basically thin pieces of foam, and I've read reviews that they shrink and tend to move around in the shoe in wet conditions. I intend to get an aftermarket insole, probably Scholl ones if they fit.

The shoes have a little shoelace "clip" to hold down the laces and prevent them from getting caught in the chainrings. The rubber sole has an aggressive design and has good grip. If you're looking for a pair of shoes for casual cycling, I'd highly recommend the El Moro 2!!! Anything more than casual cycling and you're better off with shoes that have stiffer soles.
Weaknesses:Not very waterproof, but like I said, its not made of leather anyway. :o)
Similar Products Used:Shimano shoes...not sure which model
Bike Setup:KHS FXT Sport
Bottom Line:A pair of shoes that's well worth the money spent!!!
I'd give it 5/5 for value, 4/5 for looks, performance not rated yet, will do some bike rides and update.

Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
Price Paid: $60.00
Purchased At:nashbar.com
Strengths:comfy, nice looking, good traction off bike
Weaknesses:crappy insoles kept sliding up the side when i was walking
Bottom Line:these shoes are very nice and they come at a very reasonable price. the only problem i've had with was after they got really wet at a creek crossing the insoles shriveled up and kept sliding up and out the side of the shoes. they stayed all shrunk up and felt very weird from that point on. luckily i had some extra dr scholes laying around and they fixed the problem completely.

Favorite Trail:cow paths or road
Duration Product Used:3 months
Price Paid: $75.00
Purchased At:performancebike
Strengths:looks, fit, laces, tread
Weaknesses:the recess inside the shoe (where the cleat mounting bolts go) is fairly deep.. can sometimes feel it under your foot (gonna have to fill it)
Similar Products Used:none; first clipless shoes
Bike Setup:*old* beater Mongoose ATB; 2000 Univega Modo Vincere road bike
Bottom Line:Decent SPD-compatible shoes that fit my narrow-ish feet, work well on- and off-road, and look very nice. Recessed cleat means you can hop off the bike and walk around town (though, as with all recessed-cleat shoes, apparently, you can still scratch up wood floors if you're not careful).
The sole is stiff enough to keep your feet happy on the bike, but has enough flex in the toe to make them very comfy when you walk. If you're hard-core on- or off-road, buy a more specialized shoe. If you want something for the commute or casual riding and want to look good, buy these.

Submitted by EsHan13 a Weekend Warrior from Westwood
Date Reviewed: July 31, 2001
Duration Product Used:6 months
Price Paid: $80.00
Purchased At:Performance
Strengths:Appearance is very nice, good quality, reliable traction, comes in various colors and half sizes.
Weaknesses:Made of suede (Just turned vegan, so now I wish I had a different synthetic leather shoe.) Plus, it's not all that water proof/repellant.
Similar Products Used:First bike shoes I've ever used so nothing to compare it to really.
Bike Setup:2000 Litespeed Owl Hollow:)
Bottom Line:A nice shoe that can really be used for all around Mountain biking and hiking. The traction of the sole is very aggressive and hooks well in dirt. And the style of the shoe is very appealing and quite comfortable to wear. However, being made out of suede and having such a vast choice of better synthetic leather biking shoes, these shoes seem quite obsolete. Other than that, it's a pretty good all around shoe but I just wish I had made a better informed decision. Go Mountain Biking. Go VEGAN.
