Strengths:Amazingly strong, will not break, quite a good lookin' frame, no paint to scratch, reflective stickers (!), low top tube.
Similar Products Used:DMR Sidekick (borrowed for a couple of weeks, .243 Racing
Bike Setup:HFX 9 DH (6" rotor) rear brake, SUN Double Track Rims (24"), Deore Disc Hubs, DMR Moto R/T tyres,FSA Smackdaddy Cranks, Royal Racing limited edition chain ring, Gusset Singlespeed kit, DMR/FUNN/Hope Finishing kit, no rear brake!!
Bottom Line:The most hardcore hardtail ive riden, I had a .243 racing frame for a while, and that was also an amazing frame. My recomendation if you like steel get the .243, if you like Alu get the LeToy. The new version looks even better!!

Strengths:This thing is the God of Hardtails!!! I always watched Wayne Goss ride his before he won UFC, and drooled over what he could do. Like, 25+ drops, manuals forever, and the sickest DJ! It took it all, and now I've got one. Boys, this thing makes a joke out of any other bike, EVER.
Weaknesses:Pfff, there is no weakness in this thing.
Similar Products Used:Haro 8.2 Escape, 2004 Torrent, 4Hun, one25, P3, Scratch (POS!)

Bottom Line:This bike will never let you down! Forget Banchee, they are defenitly NOT as strong as this, and the scratch is a joke at 12pds for the frame. This frame is getting buried with me!

Purchased At:2nd hand
Strengths:crazy geometry.
stupidly overbuilt, yet light
not mass produced
dropout setup
Weaknesses:none.
Similar Products Used:Chameleon, my bullit, norco ryde, gt ruckus, giant acid
Bike Setup:Le Toy 3 frame, Fox Vanilla R fork*, King headset, 321 rims on XT hubs, RF DH isis cranks, singlespeed, azonic bar, stem and pedals, hayes mags.

* will upgrade to sherman firefly spv in the next 6 months
Bottom Line:Wow!!! Amazing geometry, makes this bike insane!

I can actually manual on this, and it bunnyhops pretty high, skills which i didn't have before! It basically jumps itself.

The bike has actaully broadened my riding within about 2 weeks already. I feel a lot more confident on the jumps, which makes me more relaxed. The bike makes jumping feel natural.

The drop out design is spot on- horizontal yet the qr axle stays in the same spot because of the bolts. The bmx bb shell is a bit of a problem in that it limits the chice in chainguides, but that said i intend on keeping it as a single speed, although the option would be nice.

Apart from eventually changing the forks to some Sherman DJs r Fireflys, the only perceivable upgrade would be to some profile BMX cranks, which would make this bike pretty much invincable.

the best thing i can say is that when one of my friends had a ride both him and me felt at home straightaway, so the geomerty is fairly well dialled. Tristan has made a work of art in this frame, it's just a pity that the le Toy 4 just doesn't look as good. This has to be one of (if not the) best hadtails on the market for Jumping, huckinh, freeriding and urban. Maybe too stiff for dh, but a hardtail will never be the best dh bike.

Favorite Trail:Skate Park
Duration Product Used:3 months
Price Paid: $100.00
Purchased At:Friend
Strengths:Where to start? I mainly use this thing for BMX influenced riding (mostly skatepark and urban), and the Geometry is great for that type of riding. It has many wheel options and is constucted like a 26"/24" BMX ride (BMX BB and single speed options). It is amazingly strong but doesn't seem to stiff. The tubes are so burely.
Weaknesses:The only weeknesses are the Geometry isn't great for DJing and is is pretty pricey normally.
Similar Products Used:none
Bike Setup:I built this up mainly for skatepark and Street riding, with 24" wheels and a single speed set up.

Fork: Sherman Firefly
Headset: FSA Pig DH Pro
Stem: K2 BMX
Handlebars: .243 Racing Chromo Bars
Grips: Odi Rougues
Crankset: FSA BMX
Pedals: Wellgo
Rims: Atomlab Trailpimp 24"
Hubs: Atomlab
Tires: Kenda K-Rad
Seat: Primo Hemmorrhoid
Bottom Line:If your looking for an Urban Gangsta then I would say this is your best bet. I do about 70% urban/skatepark (by urban I don't mean the freeride part, I'm not to into that scene) and 30% DJing. I am really enjoying this frame it hasn't let me down yet.

Strengths:geometry is perfect for all around everything! drops, jumps, manuals, bunnyhops, half pipe, and trials riding of any sort. what more could a hucker ask for in a hardtail?
Weaknesses:its not butterfly light, but what do you expect from a strong frame? i can still bunnyhop waist high
Similar Products Used:chameleon, p1
Bike Setup:24" rear, profile bmx cranks, 5" marzzochi z1 on front, big old handlebars on top, 9 speed rear on xt hubs
Bottom Line:the best non suspended street bike ever!! mine is a le toy 2 but the only difference is the front gusset is 1" shorter, no chain guide mount, and the drive side dropout isnt as big. same geometry though and i choose it over my s.c. bullit any day! truly the best frame i have ever bought, and it will be with me untill i die!!

Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
Price Paid: $550.00
Purchased At:Henrikssons Cykel
Strengths:Were to start. The 2003 Le Toy III is even beefier then the 2002. The TT & DT is closer together with some serious welding to increse the strenght at the headtube. Stiff! (I like 'em stiff, so for me that's a strength) Can ride alot of diffrent wheel combos, this frame takes anything up to 3.0 (and if there were bigger tires, possible more) To sum things up: Awesome.
Weaknesses:Yet I havn't found any, and possible I won't either. Of course, if your a crosscountry rider or the cruiser type, this isn't the bike for you.
Similar Products Used:Kona Stuff 2002. Not a bad bike, but I had to jump to the offer to grab a swanky 2003 Toy.
Bike Setup:Mostly crap from 2002 Stuff. Hayes HFX-1 disc & of course a c**kring.
Bottom Line:If your a urban/dirt rider, then this is possible one of the best frames for you. Yes they are others in the same class like the Tank/Punkass, Evil Imperial, Norco one50/two50/4hun etc but here in Sweden, all other non european brands is atleast 3-400$ more expensive, and frankly, 990$ för a Imperial frame is just silly. Best bang for buck if your into these kind of bikes and lives in the Nordics.

Strengths:-Bulletproof - duh!!
-Looks amazing
-Gussets are well thought out, work perfectly
-Great company, good service (like you'd need it!)
-Versatile geometry (a bit heavy but does everything well!)
-Stable as a tank
Weaknesses:-It's heavier than most of us need. But with Alum, flex will cause weakening, and this guy don't flex!
-Head tube is a bit slack for street or tech riding (and DJ)
Similar Products Used:SC Chameleon, various Planet X
Bike Setup:2003 DJ2, Atomlab wheels, Hayes, RaceFace
Bottom Line:The perfect frame for someone who wants an all-around extreme use hardtail. It's more than most of us need, but you can rest assured your frame isn't gonna break. Also, if I crank the seat up, it's a comfortable climber! A bit lazy yes, but comfortable nonetheless.

Strengths:Adjustable wheelbase (dropouts move on spaced out holes, run a derailleur no matter what position), v-brake arch in back for any sized wheel/tyre, BMX bb with MTB adapter, basically its insane versatility and adjustability. The dropouts almost hide my 8speed cassette!
Also standover clearance
Weaknesses:when you ride this down the street or out with friends, you're expected to have skills to match the bike :P

that and my heels sometimes hit the rear seatstay yoke (what i get for having big feet)
Similar Products Used:2001Norco torrent
Bike Setup:Raw with black decals, 2001 6" jr T, rhyno lites on deore disc hubs, avid mech front and shimano V rear, deore 8speed with STX shifter, SNAFU crankset, CNC machined stem and bontrager crowbar. (uncut 29" cro-mo glory)

Wheelbase all the way forward for a 26" wheel
Bottom Line:It's size and strength is its greatest asset, and as stronger parts are bought to replace the acera cranks and XC-ish wheels i had on there, it feels like taking more and more abuse... i've ridden it rigid, taken it to COP in the woods, had it flip out manualing some stairs and still nothing bent or even scratched. raw finish is a great choice for those who hate paint flaking and wearing off. A sick bike that makes me think twice about aluminum.

Plus i got it 2 weeks old of brent for $800 CAN (as opposed to reatail of $1000) thats why the value is up there.

Strengths:Geez its beefcake. I'm a fatty and i still haven't broken it. Somehoe ripped the two eyelets out my dt swiss hubs and nothin wrong with the frame. Takes drops, crashes, lame riding over stupid things and too big rocks at silly speeds with ease. Plus it is super trick lookin. Turns heads everywhere, i mean how many have you ever seen?
Weaknesses:Ummmmm, not much. Heavy if u build it up with big stuff, but then again you aren't gunna see one at the olympics in the cross country. ie its built for a specific job of which cross country poofen around isn't included.
Similar Products Used:Zero. Ridden a GT ruckus.

Bottom Line:It was expensive, but i know no one else with one. people get on it and say....wow this feels rad...it does. Takes whatever u can throw at it, rides like a dream, prob a nice target for thieves but i aint had any probs and don't buy one cause i want to be the only one with one. Strengths:A tank!...really solid, plus you can run 24" or 26" rear wheels, with v brakes! Adjustable wheelbase (This really allows you to experiment with different geometry)
You can run the 3.0" gazzi's in 24" or 26" and they fit in the frame! I'm pretty sure no other hardtail can do this.

Weaknesses:(Not really a weakness) but it can be heavy if built up with DH parts (mine was 38 pounds with the old DH wheelset/ gazzi tires Etc...). But I changed the wheelset and parts out and it's at 30 pounds now (Not bad for such a beefy bike).
Similar Products Used:kona roast
Bike Setup:(The 30 pound recipe) King headset, raceface low riser bar big AL stem, X fly 100, 26" rynolite front /w ringle hub,24" arrow rim w/xt disc rear hub, Hayes hydros,Husselfelt cranks,S&M pedals, rf prodigy post, IRC backcountry 2.25 front / Kujo 2.35 24" rear, 105 derailer and cassette, ringgod
Bottom Line:This bike gives you so much confidence; because you never worry have to about hurting it. I've dropped it on stone benches and crashed on concrete at the skate park, it won't even dent much less break. And I love the feeling of landing a big wheelie drop to flat concrete on a nice soft 3.0 tire that actually fits in the frame. And the looks you get riding this thing. Everyone always asks the same question: "What is that?" and not just other riders, people at bars! It's like I’m the Colorado rep!
The bottom line is: it's THE most Burly, and one of the most unique hardtails I’ve ever ridden. It's not cheap but what custom hardtail is? So if you want the beefest hartail made than this is it. If you want somthing light then this probly is'nt right for you.

Strengths:It's pink! Absolutely the most bomb-proof frame I've ever seen. Very easy to adapt this frame to your particular brand of hardcore riding. You will NOT break it. Ever.
Weaknesses:You're joking, right?
Similar Products Used:None, unless you count my Fly BMX or SC Bullit.

Bottom Line:I've been riding this for urban for around 15 months now, and it just laughs at my pathetic riding - you can almost hear it saying, "Is that all you've got?". Very configurable frame, I've had it set up with single-speed, run with chain tugs and skinny tyres (24x2.5/2.75); now with 3.0" tyres, chain device and gears. Perfect for its intended use - urban assault. This frame begs to be ridden hard; it is a frame you can have absolute faith in. It will not let you down. Props to Tristan :-)
