    Favorite Trail:still born
    Duration Product Used:3 months
    Price Paid: $90.00
    Purchased At:lbs
    Strengths:Light
    Weaknesses:Bearings, Lubrication/Serviceability, Body, Cost
    Bike Setup:Cannondale--Road Bike
Bottom Line:The first AC hub I used broke where the spokes seat, so the guys kindly sent me a new one--NQA. I coughed another $55 up to have the wheel rebuilt & one of the cartridge bearings crapped out after 400k & 3 rainstorms. I called AC again & was told that the bearings are readily available at any serious supply house. They're not. AC has them spec'd so you have to pay $16 for them instead of $5.50 at the local place. Also, the guy in their service dept. (I use that term very loosely) gave me bad skinny about bearing replacement. When you do need to replace them, slide their silly grease sleeve out & simply pop them out with the heel of your hand & a screwdriver inserted from the opposite side of the hub. When you install them (bearings), throw them in the freezer for an hour & they'll go in much more easily.
These hubs wet the bed after a few weeks on my road bike--I can't imagine how they could possibly hold up on the trails.
