Favorite Trail:T Mountain, Wasatch Crest, Pipeline, Mueller
    Duration Product Used:6 months
    Price Paid: $12.00
    Purchased At:Fisher's
    Strengths:Puncture resistant
Weaknesses:Um, the stem. It needs more glue.
    Similar Products Used:NashBar, Specialized, Maxxis
Bike Setup:2002 Slayer, Fuzzy Dice, Dropped slow -n-low.
Bottom Line:I've ridden over cactus and not got a flat. The things are pretty heavy, but you pick your poison: flats or weight. But would it be too much to ask that the stems stay on? So they don't puncture, but have you ever tried to wrap a patch around the stem to make it stick back on the tube?

    Strengths:No Flats. Decent price.
Weaknesses:Weight. Heavy, Heavy . Ribbed section will not take a patch well, but i've never had a flat to test this. I suppose they COULD contribute to a harsh ride due to thier thickness.

Bottom Line:These tubes deliver what they promise. I'm a 235lb rider and have had ZERO flats in 700 miles . I ride 60% rugged So. Cal. trails and 40% glass strewn road. They do lose about 1pound of pressure a week ,but so will most tubes. Two of my buddies run these tubes and none of us have EVER had a flat. It makes it hard to justify taking a pump with us on the trail. LOL I highly recommend these tubes!!

Weaknesses:everything, these things go flat when you breathe on them...

Bike Setup:Schwinn Homegrown pro, XTR everything, syncros cranks, hugi 240n/mavic 225 wheelsets, selle italia flite gel, rock shox judy DH
Bottom Line:Too bad I can't give it a zero flaming chili rating.
These things pinchflatted with 55psi! flats and slow leaks EVERY single time out on the trail (granted this is rocky, thorny AZ). The ONLY time I didn't get a flat while on the trail, I couldn't believe it... Worry not though,I got TWO flats during the next ride (front and back)....

Buy only if you like fixing flats under a 110F sun... (i.e. masochist of the highest order)

    Favorite Trail:Urban trials
    Duration Product Used:3 months
    Purchased At:LBS
Strengths:Economical, even from a bike shop
    Weaknesses:Heavier than more expensive tubes
    Similar Products Used:Lots.
Bike Setup:Planet X Zebdi with a full complement of trials gear
Bottom Line:I ride trials on these and have landed on them hard a couple of times and pinch flats have never been an issue. I've never tried them at high pressures. I've never had a valve rip off, but it's a possibility that the people below tightened the locknut too much. As for the rim cutting the valve, that's just ignorance; if you run a presta valve in a schrader-drilled rim, get one of the rubber inserts from your LBS. That will stop that problem, which is not specific to this particular tube. It's a thick, strong tube. Its weight is its only downfall that I can see.

    Strengths:4mm thickness
Weaknesses:PRESTA VALVE!!! they messed up my rim
Similar Products Used:any other urban tube...
Bike Setup:2000 Psycle Werks WildHare (f/s) CUSTOM!
Bottom Line:DO NOT BUY A TUBE WITH A PRESTA VALVE!!
if you do not have a rim made with a presta honed valve hole you risk REALLY messing up your rim...

Presta has a screw thread that runs all the way to the rubber on the tube(whats up with that???) so when the tube is on the rim; the valve rubs against the hole and pretty much cuts it away!
DO NOT BUY A PRESTA!!!! AVOID THEM AT ALLLLLLLL COST!!!!

    Date Reviewed: October 16, 2000
Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
Strengths:when a spare tube's the only thing that makes the difference between riding or walking home, you MIGHT be able to depend on one of these
Weaknesses:everything: bloody valve stems rip, ribbed surfaces can't be patched effectively, heavy, same price as better tubes in the market
Similar Products Used:Avenir, Specialized, Panaracer, no name Taiwanese ones
Bike Setup:'00 Santa Cruz Superlight, full custom build
Bottom Line:I've gone through eight of these tubes in 3 weeks and 120 miles of moderate trail riding. Only reason I had eight is because I like to keep a stock of them at home and one for the ride. I exhausted my entire supply in a ridiculously short amount of time. Three of these were thrown out immediately due to bad valve stems that were ripped at the base. Worst of all, I happened to be riding on a spare tube which was punctured at a portion where the surface of the tube is ribbed (why???). I patched the area and rode home, but had to pump every 3 miles since air still leaked out the side of the patch.

    Favorite Trail:
the one I just rode for the first time
    Duration Product Used:
    1 Year
    Strengths:
    it works for a while
    Weaknesses:
    the presta stem rips off
Bottom Line:it sucks when you buy all new tubes including replacing all thoes spairs and you find out that they have a comon flaw and they will all fail.
