Outdoor Outfitter L.L. Bean Launches IMBA Support
For Immediate Release, May 29, 2003
By making a multi-faceted, two-year commitment to the International Mountain Bicycling Association, L.L. Bean has increased its support for bicycle advocacy.
L.L. Bean is now the official outfitter of the Subaru/IMBA Trail Care Crew, providing essential clothing and gear for life on the road. The company also supplies outdoor gear to IMBA staff and supports IMBA financially as an Above-and-Beyond Corporate Member.
The Subaru/IMBA Trail Care Crew comprises two teams of trail experts who travel the country, leading trailwork sessions and IMBA Trailbuilding Schools. The teams partner with government officials, land managers and bike clubs to teach the art and science of sustainable trailbuilding and to solve trail management challenges.
L.L. Bean is also encouraging IMBA members to shop on its website. For every order placed through links provided on the IMBA website, L.L. Bean will make a financial contribution to support mountain biking. To begin shopping, please visit http://www.imba.com/tcc/llbean.html
"L.L. Bean is taking a significant step in supporting mountain bike advocacy," said IMBA executive director Tim Blumenthal. "This two-year commitment builds on L.L. Bean's partnership with IMBA's number one corporate supporter, Subaru of America."
Rich Donaldson, L.L. Bean Public Relations Manager said, "IMBA leads a growing and critical effort to protect our trails and open spaces through the Subaru/IMBA Trail Care Crew and other advocacy programs. L.L.
