Bicycling and Mountain Bike Magazines Dig Deep to Support IMBA
Donations Surpass $660,000 Since 1998

Bicycling and Mountain Bike magazines have donated more than $660,000 to the International Mountain Bicycling Association (IMBA) since 1998. The contributions of these two Rodale publications include dues, cash and in-kind donations.

Bicycling and Mountain Bike have been exemplary IMBA corporate members since1994. In March 1998, they pledged $250,000 in IMBA support over three years. By fall 2000, this sum was surpassed. Donations have continued strong since then - more than doubling during the last two years.

The donated space for IMBA ads in Bicycling and Mountain Bike, which have a combined circulation of 400,000, has generated more than 48 million reader impressions and has introduced countless mountain bikers to IMBA's access and trail construction efforts.

Commenting on Bicycling and Mountain Bike's contributions to IMBA, Publisher Nicholas Freedman said, "In addition to covering the sport and reporting on the latest gear and equipment, Bicycling and Mountain Bike's mission is to grow and cultivate the sport. We're proud to support organizations like IMBA that are committed to educating mountain bikers about riding responsibly. It's the best way to keep our trails open for more and more riders to enjoy. If you care about keeping your trails open, call IMBA and get involved."

IMBA executive director Tim Blumenthal said, "IMBA is five times the size we were in 1998 when Bicycling and Mountain Bike made their initial, bold commitment. This translates into more clout for mountain bikers in trail access decisions. We're very grateful for Rodale's support."
