Typically when I get to the parking lot of the trail, I pull up with my Gary hanging on the back of my car.
I get these weird feeling while I am looking for a spot to park. It's similar to that feeling when you're a freshman in highschool and its the first day of school. You know, when you walk in all the upper graders look...and gauk over you.
I always see guys checking out my bike. Then once they've made their assesment, they turn to their buddies and make some comment. Often that comment is followed by a few chuckles.
You see, I don't seem to get that with fellow Hardies (hard tail riders). In fact, when a hardie sees another hardie, there is an instant bond that is created. I beleive that's how it was when Chess Club members saw each other in HS. They seemed to be happy to see their own kind.
Anyhow, for some reason, these softies seem to have something against hardies. I don't know what it is, maybe it's the same way how jocks would look down on guys in track and field.
I guess what I am trying to say is, we're all riders. Soft or hard, we all love the same singletrack. So let's show some love!
If anyone is interested. Our Team is doing a receational race at Fullerton Loop. It's Hardies Vs. Softies. Sometime in August.
Let me know.
