Site Manager Greeting/Profile - Gregg Kato
WELCOME:Well, I've been working here at Mtbr for over six years now, and man, does the time fly. There have been many, many changes both behind the scenes and on the site itself. And more to come. I still consider myself blessed to have found my dream job, but it is definitely hard work.Times are still challenging for the online world, but we have had our best months ever, recently, and we are ALWAYS working to make sure that Mtbr.com remains the number one biking community and website on the internet. And I stress the word "community", because I believe it is the one core thing that differentiates us, and makes us the best. This sense of community is one of the things that was impressed upon me as soon as I came to this job, and it is definitely true. I am very fortunate to be a part of all this.

![]() (Hired in October, 2000, Gregg has been a long-standing user/enthusiast/fan of MTBR since its beginning in 1996. Although a bicycle rider since childhood, it was actually motorcycles that were Gregg's main interest growing up. Saving up enough paper-route money to buy his first 50cc two-stroke motorcycle is a long lasting memory for him. From there, he went through a number of crotch-rockets and then moved on to dirt bikes as well. But, it was in 1995 that Gregg became addicted to mountain biking and it soon became an all-encompassing PASSION. It started out as a way to escape, but quickly turned into much more. He payed his dues on a steel hard tail and soon worked up enough money and enthusiasm for a full-suspension ride. Currently, here in the San Francisco-San Jose Bay Area, Gregg enjoys the local riding at Skegg's Point and the Santa Cruz mountains and always trys to fit in at least a couple of trips to Tahoe during the summer.) |
