Summary:
The Missisquoi Valley Rail Trail is a converted railroad grade running approximately 26 miles from US Route 7 in St. Albans to Richford, VT. It is almost entirely finely crushed stone, compacted to a hard base, 5-10 feet wide. A pamphlet is available locally with specific details of the trail and the areas that it runs through. Services are available in each town along the way. Maximum grades are about 3% if I remember right. Mile markers are in place with 0.0 at the trailhead in St. Albans. From Sheldon Springs to Richford the trail runs along the Missisquoi River with some fantastic views.

Recommended Route:
Only one route: the trail! Unfortunately, there is no side-trail single-track that I'm aware of.

An excellent place to bring the family to bike safely. Only moderate useage.

Designated parking can be found in St. Albans, just north of the Go-Go gas station. Look for the bike up on a pole. Parking is also available at designated spots along the trail.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
See Chittenden County trails and Bromont, Quebec for DH/XC.
