Cross Country Rider Summary: People people...this trail is killer to start the season...late March, early April..No bugs, Lake stink(haven't you ever been to the gulf?) is at a minimum. yeah, lots o horseys, But they have a right to ride too..don't you think? Yeah, they should control the times and areas open to them so they don't trash trails w/postholes...that's another day... Wht Rk Bay in either direction to Ele Pt. and back then to Split Rk Bay ... it's just a good early season start point. Not overly challenging, but still good for the hrt. Plus the scenery @ this time is usually green sorta..w/spring & all..Don't ride this in the heat of the summer ... a no no for SURE! But late Oct and sometimes into Nov. it's great just to ride...and look where you're at my friend...a very unique place on this planet++ Recommended Route: Include Ele Pt in the agenda...actually looks like an elephant laying on its' side...you can really see that from top of Split Rk Bay section. If you've got the go...do Split Rk..then back..Just a good clean out in the open away from most kinda place. Good work out!!We actually got to ride some of these trails back in the day...late 80''s when the causeway was washed out. Actually got to Stringham Pk on bikes! Rigids!! Can't do that anymore except on foot... Other recommended trails in the same area: As the season warms the mtn trails start opening .. them. Ice Box, Maples, Cenntennial loop- No.Fork Pk. Ben Lomond, Lewis Pk. All gems in their own right.

Weekend Warrior Summary: Really only good as a bumper season ride when there's still too much snow to ride at higher elevations. Too much doubletrack, and the lake doesn't smell so hot. When you do reach the singletrack, it is a lot of fun. Still nothing like being in the Wasatch, however.

Weekend Warrior
, from SLC, Utah Summary: I was underwelmed to say the least upon arrival at Antelope Island. In mid-August on a Saturday afternoon the place was empty. The camp grounds were completely empty — there was about 5 people on the Island and 2 were working the toll-both. I set out to ride the shore trail from the main campground. I rode the 3 mile trail and enjoyed the first mile, then the trial become unridable with too many large rocks. I turned back and sought another trial.
I then chose the Mountain View trail. I rode this unchallenging boring dirt trail for about 1 mile then decided to turn back and leave the god-forsaken place called Antelope Island. All I remember from AI is the bugs, heat, and depressed surroundings. This place and the bike trails it provided Sucked. Recommended Route: I read another reviewer who said something about an Elephant Head trail? — that was challenging? I must have been in the wrong place. Other recommended trails in the same area: I recommend you never set for on AI — especially for $8 bucks. What a rip! I like the Millcreek canyon trails a lot. Big Water and Pipeline. They are good fitness rides as wells as great mountain biki

, from SLC, Utah Summary: These trails are a huge waste of time and money ($8 per car). They allow horses to use the same trails as mtn. bikes, which turns muddy sections into giant unrideable bogs and dry sections into teeth-loosening washboards. No fun at all, even on my Sugar fully. Don't waste your time, go to the Bonneville-Shoreline Trail. Recommended Route: None Other recommended trails in the same area: Bonneville-Shoreline or take the drive to Moab
