Wilderness Trail

This trail is located in the Noxubee Refuge and is a loop on flat, low ground that may be flooded after hard rains. The trail is marked and is usually in good repair. It is shaded by very large hardwood trees -- some of which are labeled. Do not ride after dark, because it would be difficult to stay on the trail. Maps are often available at the end of the second bridge.

Summary:
I was unable to ride the entire trail due to swamp-like conditions. I can see enjoying this trail when it dries completely.

Reviewed by: Hugh Ector , from Starkville, Mississippi, USA

Summary:
This is a good beginner's single track loop. There are a few logs to go over and a couple of bridges where a beginner might want to push. However, the trail in in the "big woods" where there are large trees, many of which are labeled. It is as flat 3.4 miles as you can get, but in the fall, after the leaves are fallen, it may be a little difficult to follow. The north side of the trail follows roughly the Noxubee River (a creek in size).
Parking is available at the trailhead. The trail forks just beyond the river bridge. At the river there is a map posted.

Recommended Route:
Either clockwise or counter clockwise.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Research Park Trail and Scattertown Trail.
