DESCRIPTION

Every tool is custom designed to do its intended job and then manufactured to precise tolerances. Setté Torx tools are intended for use by home mechanics but they're good enough for professionals.

Strength:

Lots of different tools that are needed for most any bike. Superbly priced!! Fit splines exceptionally well and work properly.

Weakness:

The wrenches are fairly thin causing some warpage, and if your bolts/nuts are too tight, they will leave tooling marks on them. The phillips screwdriver is pretty useless as it doesn't engage very well. Some of the tools are awesome, and others are cheap (cresent, screwdrivers, allen keys)

This is an excellent product for the price. You get all the special tools you need in this kit. But may want to use some of your own wrenches in place of the thin combo ones included in this kit.

I'm a helicopter mechanic, so i have lots of tools in my garage that i can use. So, together with this kit maintenance is a snap.

Overall, this is a great buy for the price. But if you need a full set of the highest quality tools, you'll be spending quite a bit more for a Park set or similar.

Strength:

good variety of bike specific tools. the splined tools fit well and seem well made. chain tool works well, crank puller does square taper and isis.

Weakness:

cheesy spoke wrench, it may fit alright, but who wants to round off their nipples? the tools are not the most convenient versions of the tools, i.e. they all require the user to supply a ratchet or wrench, but for $30 who can complain? it doesn't come with less commonly used tools like freewheel tool, truvativ isis bb tool (the castle looking tool), bb wrench for external bb's (shimano 2 piece and race face X type).

so far, i'm happy with this tool set. i used to be a bike mechanic and have seen every brand of bike tool wear out.

to get the best life out of this set, it may require the user to be careful to get the tool inplace and completely engaged before and while torquing. i think the advantage of park or pedro's is the lifetime warranty, as the quality is in the same ballpark. if you are ham fisted, get some heavier duty, more expensive tools and ruin them and use the warranty. if you are careful this set should be fine for a home mechanic or even moderate shop use. it's still worth it if you wear them out every year at 1/5 the cost of pedro's or park.
