Strengths:    Light (4.2lbs w/skewers), simple, durable.

    Weaknesses:    Greasguard is messy?

    Bottom Line:
For the most part these wheels have been solid and reliable. They've performed well on 4+ hour epics as well as 30 minute trips through the park. The rear freehub did break at one point, but WTB replaced it at no charge. The greaseguard feature works great and keeps things lubed, but you have to lube them often and it can be kind of a mess. Bottom line: Nice wheels for XC riding. They will NOT handle freeride or downhill.

Strengths:    While I respect everyone else's negative opinion about these wheels, I cannot see them justified.

After loading the bike onto the back of my truck, I inadvertently left the front wheel on the floor and managed to back over the wheel twice ! The only damage to the wheelset was limited to the skewer which bent. The rim stayed almost true and I am still using the darn thing.

Ohh by the way, before this incident I also managed to crash onto the back of a parked car while going downhill app. 10-15 mph. Again no damage, it didn't even need to be trued. Wished could say the same about my shoulder, a year and a half later and still recuperating.

    Weaknesses:    None

    Bottom Line:
I am shopping for another set for my girlfriend's bike

Strengths:    The only single actual strength that first caught my eye was price. A low low closeout price! How quickly the rosy feeling one has after paying a low price fades when the reality sets in that what you actually bought was Taiwan garbage!

Weaknesses:    The WTB greaseguard hubs are garbage. They do not work like they were designed to. (It is obvious why WTB partner Charlie Cunningham severed his long term relationship. Since Patrick Seidler has vilified the WTB product line (Taiwan hubs nade by Formula http://www.formulahubs.com ) spokes made by Chun Nan Jin Ji (http://www.cnspoke.com) and laserbeam rims by Alex (http://www.alexrims.com) the WTB products are A POOR EXAMPLE OF CONTEMPORY WHEELS.

    Bottom Line:
Use the new XERO wheels from Formula or use the American Classic wheels! Stay away from WTB dirty boat anchors!
