Strengths:    Strong, solid, not too heavy.

Weaknesses:    None so far.

Bottom Line:
OK, forgive my late review but these wheels friggin rock!
36 spokes are clearly superior (too bad their being pushed out of the market by weight freaks). As below, I had to true 'em up once or twice during the "break in" period but they've been dead on ever since, and I'm a Clydesdale from hell. Finally tweaked the rear wheel after my big lug friend crashed into me on a downhill. Wasn't too bad, I was able to disconnect the rear brake and coast the rest of the way down. He agreed to fix my bike and luckily our LBS (Criterium) were able to locate and lace up a new 36H Speedmaster rim, so I'm back in business.

Strengths:    the wheel set i used was the 99 xtr set.

Weaknesses:    front wheel needs to aligned every few weeks. rear wheel was horrible, comes out of alignment on ever ride, even if the ride was on smooth terrain. spokes unscrew too easially

Bottom Line:
dont waste the money unless you plane to only use these on the road, even then you will have to true them after every ride. i took these wheels in to be trued several times thinking that they would be fine afterwards, but they never were, i got to the point to the point where i had to bring a spoke wrench along with me. i switched back to my 2 year old stx-rc wheel for the rear and it works so much better(which isnt that great) than the xtr did.

Strengths:
Good hub
good rim
good price

Weaknesses:
loooooose spokes

Bottom Line:
I rode around for about a week, when I noticed a slight wobble. Checked the spokes unbelievably loose. I had the shop tighten them and everything is fine. Really can't buy the hubs for the price of this set.

Strengths:
mine were better than yours
strong
gotta love the older XTR pearl anodized finish

Weaknesses:
no dirt seals
got two different kinds of Skewers(new XT and old as dirt XTR), and both of them broke

Bottom Line:
i hope you guys dont hate me, but i got mine in perfect condition. not a mark on the hubs/rims. i also had fear of getting poorly built wheels, but i took them to the LBS, and they said they were perfect. i also didnt pay as much for mine. i got them for $109, and i got the KK Ti rear/Stainless front skewers for $15 extra. i did, however splurge for the second day shipping($40), so i didnt have to wait so long. all in all, i love them. super fast, super strong, and very light. im not one of these losers who carry a gram scale around with them to weigh there buddys XTR Cranks compared to there Race Face units, so i guess i cant prove that they are that light. oh well, i still love them.
thats the bottom line

Strong-
Wait a minute, those three can't go together----

Weaknesses:
SuperSlooo to deliver
untru rims
torsioned weakly
scratched hubs

Bottom Line:
These were very untrue... But for price they were a good buy. The hubs were scratched.
Real price is 125 + truing+tax+ shipping= $170. Still a great buy and now I will be able to use my LX wheelset for tooling around and save the nobbies. These give me a longer period to save up for Chris King's, (you have to be the king to be able to afford them).
Overall value five chilis, minus one for the poor craftmanship and scratches.

Strengths:
Smooth hubs
Indestructable rims
CHEAP

Weaknesses:
Poorly built

Bottom Line:
Okay-here is an update. since adjusting the spoke tension these wheels have been increadible! I took two really hard spilsl last weekend and they did not budge out of true. In a side by side race down hill with a friend, no pedaling, I gained about 40 bike lenghts in less than 200 yards! Mind you I have velociraptors and he uses sprint tires! Unbelievable! Also, if you think they weigh more than normal wheels because of the 36 spokes you are way wrong. I compared my front wheel to a friend's with XT hubs and Bontrager Mustang rims-32 spoke (14g). His weighed 62 grams more! As I'm sure you know, a wheelset like his would cost about $75.00 more than the $125 these cost. Buy these wheels, tighten them and kick the #@%# out of your friends because they make you fast. And feel good knowing that you didn't dump $250 on them. supergo may suck for a lot of reasons, but Damn they have the best deals, period.

Strengths:
fairly light
Strong

Weaknesses:
Poorly built
scratches on hubs

Bottom Line:
I got these from supergo about a week ago. The first thing I noticed was that they were severly undertensioned. I tightened them myself but really didn't know what I was doing because after doing so and riding them, they went out of true quite badly. so, I Bought a book an wheel building and learned how to even the spoke tension. Now the wheels seems to do fine. The rims are good and the hubs are very smooth. Only drawback is that these hubs do not have the rubber dirt seals of the newer models so if you ride in mucky, wet conditions you may need to rebuild them more often. For the price, you can't even blow on a wheelset this good. However, bring them to a shop and get them tightened and re-trued otherwise you will have a very flexy wheel. 3 chilis stock, 5 after tightening. Average : four. By the way, expect supergo to take ten days to send them to you! I don't know why they take so long, especially considering that they charge $15.00 shipping and handling to send them to you.
