Strengths: CBLOWWeaknesses: CBLOWBottom Line: Le Chef -
The rims are softer for a reason. Hard rims break and catastrophically fail. A little softer alloy "gives" and allows the rim to remain intact and the tire to stay on. If you're having problems with denting, learn to ride smoother and preload.

Strengths: They're blackWeaknesses: These things came stock on my '07 Nomad and are, hands down, the flimsiest sidewalls I've ever encountered on a rim. Each one of my rims has 4-6 spots where the bead is completely stoved-in. I'm sorry, but if you call a rim "free ride" it probably shouldn't cave-in every time you get near a rock. Miraculously my tires are still staying on.Bottom Line: Stay away!!!

Strengths: DT FR 6.1D rims laced to DT 440 hubs w/ DT 14 guage spokes, brass nipples cam on the bike. Excellent wheel build with great hubs and a low overall weight of weigh about 2275 grams. Very high qualityWeaknesses: Rim bead fold over very easily on hard hits. The wheel still stays true and does not affect the ovral build. My buddy had the same problem with his afte a few weeks. The price you pay for low weight. Great for racing, not so great for everyday ridingBottom Line: Very nice race wheels but the rims do not look so pretty after a few weeks of riding.

Strengths: Stiff! Light for what they are.Weaknesses: not yetBottom Line: Nice wheels! Smooth and stiff.
The rims are pretty deep dish, making them real strong.
I run these with the Stan's tubeless conversion on Maxxis Mobster 2.5's. Works awesome.
These are the best hubs available. 4 years of riding my old ones with no probs had me instantly sold on the 440's when they were first released.
The spokes are 12 gage at the heads, so I don't foresee breaking those.
I was skeptical on first year production rims, but DT's reputation in my book made them good enough to try.
They are expensive, but you won't be broken down trailside with these hubs. Maintenance free for 4 years, then I sent them back for new bearings. I run these hubs on 2 bikes.
Some people talk about cracked flanges and such, which is usually caused by too high of spoke tension. The good thing about buying the 440's is that they are pre-hand-built by DT in Colorado. Perfect tension.
I'll be putting these to the test on my DH bike this summer, we'll see how they hold up. High expectations.
