Strengths: Tread pattern worked well.Weaknesses: Does not last.Bottom Line: The tires worked great on front and back, nice blend of lower rolling resistance with decent traction. But,within 3 weeks the lugs started to tear completely off. The back tire lasted less than a month, eventually so many lugs were missing that the tire would not hold air. The front tire lasted longer but with the same outcome. I know the trails in AZ are hard on tires but no other tires that I have ever used have disintegrated like these. With the lug problem these tires have, don't waste your money.

Strengths: Knobs have held up OK. (non-Armadillo)Weaknesses: Torn sidewall when used in rear. I am a clydesdale, so I agree with previous reviewer--that over 140 lbs is a risk. Also hard to set up on rim. Not a tight fit.Bottom Line: I ride the sharp rocks and scree on hills. This tire is too weak for harsh treatment.

Strengths: Great traction and all around performance. Rolls easy and stops great.Weaknesses: If you get cough in the rain and the ground gets muddy you are in trouble. The tire are not made for slick or muddy conditions but that is there weakness.Bottom Line: If you are looking for a fast, easy rolling, Sticky tire for dry conditions than this is the tire. I will get another set when these wear out.

Strengths: Hooks up well, great cornering, light, low rolling resistance, grips well, good on loose and hardpack. One of the best out there in this regard.
Weaknesses: Must use with Stans - lots of it the first time.Bottom Line: This is in response to my post (under mike) on the non-Armadillo Captain Control 2Bliss). See http://www.mtbr.com/cat/tires-and-wheels/Tire/specialized/the-captain-control-2bliss/PRD_416431_151crx.aspx. That one works fine as a front tire, or a rear tire for light people, but the sidewall will likely tear (on rocks) if used as rear tire for anyone over 140 lbs. This Armadillo version appears much stronger, and so far I've had good luck with it on the rear. Non- Armadillo Captain tire is still on the front.
Beware though that the tire is not really as UST as Specialized would make you think. It leaks air all over (hundreds of tinny bubbles) until you put a lot of Stans in it and slosh it around a lot -- same procedure you would use for a non-UST tire.
