Favorite Trail:The type road bikes can't do!
Duration Product Used:2 Years
Price Paid: $40.00
Purchased At:Northern Cycle
Strengths:Fasst! Ust bead, thick punture resist, corners well, reliable, good allrounder, can be aired down Very low for large footprint with no sidewall roll because it is so low profile and thick, 15psi and therefore works well in sand.climbs well and decend well.Feels lighter than it is.
Weaknesses:claimed weight is 550gm actual is 600 and 640gm.wears fast or else I ride more than I thought!
Similar Products Used:Klimax Tube type(fast but to thin)Pythons tt(great) UST (heavy)Trailblaster 2.1(okay) Conti. ss Twister (to thin.)
Bike Setup:Trek EX 9.0 Spinenergys with Stans rim strips
Bottom Line:These tires make you faster! They can be aired down to feel supple.Exellent product!

Submitted by Aaron Clark a Racer from Rangiora, New Zealand
Date Reviewed: November 3, 2004
Duration Product Used:1 Year
Price Paid: $30.00
Purchased At:Chain Reaction Cycles, Chch, NZ
Strengths:Very light tyre for tubeless. 1.75" size is closer to 1.9". Even in light mud, this tyre is great for climbing with the right air pressure. I have raced on these tyres for over a year, with no inclination at all to take them off my race bike.
Weaknesses:None so far, hasn't punctured or cut up like my previous Michelin's did.
Similar Products Used:Michelin Comp S Lite UST.
Bike Setup:Marin Alpine Trail, 2003 SID's, Mavic CrossMax UST, Fox Float ProPedal, Truvativ Stylo Team Cranks.
Bottom Line:If you want a good multi-purpose XC tyre, that will resist punctures (I run Stan's too), is very light weight for UST, and rolls nicely while providing surprising levels of grip, go for it. This tyre makes other offerings that cost 30-40% more look silly.
