Hutchinson designed the Cobra Light Tubeless Tire for the dry-climate, go-fast, XC crowd. Small, closely spaced center lugs reduce rolling resistance. You're faster on the straights. As you approach a turn, you can lay off the brakes and let those big, burly side lugs bite into the trail to keep you tracking where other tires would wash out. And because they're tubeless, you can pretty much forget about thorns and pinch-flats. Un-crunch your worried brow, and let the cool breeze of high-speed go
Strengths: Relatively light @ 520gr each. Very low rolling resistance yet still provides decent grip as long as it's completely dry! Really fast on dry terrain and can even hold it's own during a rocky 20mph descent. Like all Hutchinson tubeless models, it's a breeze to install unlike other brands and holds air perfectly with stan's sealant right away.
Weaknesses: On wet trail or even asphalt this tire is downright dangerous.
Bottom Line:
I got the newest Tubeless Ready model not the Tubeless Light. Not sure if it's the compound of this tire but even on wet asphalt it slips all the time during steep slow uphill. I never ever slipped using any kind of tire on asphalt. Could be because the tires are new but my Toro is perfectly fine. So make sure to use this tire on dry trail with none or very minimal wet areas. So the comment is similar to the Racing Ralph that's bad on wet stuff vs Nobby Nic that's heavier but more of an all rounder. Other than that this is a decent weighted very stable tire on cornering and braking. These are directional tires and they are noted on very small writings on the side, so make sure you check them first.
