WTB Tubes Tube

4.08/5 (13 Reviews)
MSRP : $7.00

Product Description

Duralight™ tubes and rim strip system may be the lightest you can buy, featuring a wall thickness of 0.45mm throughout, and a feathery weight of approximately 100g (tube and strip) to further reduce the rotational inertia of your wheel, resulting in more responsive speed modulation. The Duralight™ tubes also reduce the mass behind the tread improving the traction and shock absorption characteristics of the tire.

    Strengths:    Durability and Light Weight!

    Weaknesses:    None

    Bottom Line:
I prefer these tubes to other tubes I have tried. They are a little heavier but work excellent for XC riding. I did get thorn punctures but these were BIG thorns and I was using lite XC tires (WTB 2.14 Kevlar Motoraptor and Mutanoraptor tires). I switched to 2.4 WTB Motoraptor in the rear and 2.5 Wierwolf Kevlar in the front. I have not had another flat using these tires. Other than the Panaracer or Nokian 2.1 tubes I would not recommend trying these superlite tubes. The Torelli's I would not even trust as a backup. There is only so lite you can go without a tradeoff and these tubes and tires are it. Otherwise, if you use a lite XC tire you had better use a good tube! The Nokian's are good quality tubes but expensive. I prefer the WTB tubes and would recommend them without a doubt!

Strengths:    This tube has a nice supple feel compared to others. The valve stem is firmly fixed. It is also sourced from the Cheng Shin Co., makers of the best tubes by far. The price is relatively cheap because you don't pay for all the marketing hype that normally comes with more expensive tubes. You're simply buying something that works!

    Weaknesses:    Absolutely none!

    Bottom Line:
After using this particular tube for so many years I will never consider making any compromises. Other tubes have let me down badly. When one of these duralights is taken out by a huge hit and eventually replaced the tube still feels supple like a new one. The rubber compound holds patches permanently. The valve stem has never come apart on a duralight and these things don't leak even with 60 psi. WTB market a good product but five chillis all round to the maker, Cheng Shin Co. for a damn good job.

    Strengths:    light

Weaknesses:    weak did not last a week not worth the money I only paid 2$ for mine and it was 2$ too much.

    Bottom Line:
This tube lasted two maybe three rides then it split on the seem. less than one week. I am not satisfied. No big drops no jumps just normal single track. I went back to thick heavy tubes and haven't had any problems.
I will try thin light tubes one more time maybe- the weight savings doesn't help if you can't ride your bike. Well I guess it does as you push your bike home...haha. No I'd rather be riding than changing flats on the trail. buyer beware. low value . overall I give it 2 flaming tubes because it was light.

Strengths:    Holds air better than any other XC tube I have tried, and I have tried them all.

    Weaknesses:    NONE

    Bottom Line:
If you are tired of pinched flats, and having to add air each time you ride, buy WTB tubes. I don't know how WTB does it, but they do-it-right.

    Weaknesses:    none

    Bottom Line:
Great tube yet to punture.I am about 70kg(154lbs) ride rather aggressively.Do small jumps of about 1 to 2 ft dropoffs. No snake bites yet.Just one word of advice.Try not to use 1.8 tyres. You have to pump up to 55 psi to prevent pinch flats which is way to high for XC use.(Anything below that even the heavy cheng shins pinched!)Use at least a 1.9,drop the pressure to as low as 40.(Use your gauge guys and girls not your fingers to measure it's worth the trouble I assure you.)

Strengths:    light, sub 100g, u feel it.

Weaknesses:    broke my 2 yr plus flat free record, within 2 months, kena 2 flats on both wheels, one from a small thorn, the other from the tube splitting at the seams.

    Bottom Line:
Mine sucked, no offence to my fellow countryman below, but mine REALLY sucked big time. It may be a defective batch, but another fren also punctured his rather quickly, so I doubt so.
Mebbe I'm just too used to bomb proof Specialized inners, they made me almost forget how to change a tube

Surprisingly light - weighed them in at 90g when I bought them (including the caps)

    Weaknesses:
    None so far

    Bottom Line:
Been using these for the last 7 mths - only 1 snakebite so far - my error for running under-pressure and doing jumps. No other complaints. It's an inner tube, it's cheap, go for it. 5 hot ones as far as tubes go.

If there were a word to decribe its weakness, I'd use it.

    Bottom Line:
I don't know how anyone rides with these tubes. Bought'em brand new cos' it was rumoured that these WTBs were pretty groovy... whatta con. 1st time off road, I blew'em on a SMOOTH downhill. I'd really not give this product any chillis, but I have to. They're not cheap, not all that lightweight and not worth the trouble having to CARRY your machine outta the trails... A huge disappointment from WTB...

    Reasonably light

    Bottom Line:
Ive tried just about every brand of tube on the market, from those that last 10 minutes to a couple of weeks. I ride 30km every day of the week over various terrain and was getting a flat about once a week on average, but since switching to WTB tubes I havent had a flat in over 3 months. Thats good enough for me. Not too heavy and the valve caps look great.
