Strengths: You will probably really never have another flat as long as you live. Good for epic rides where you are in backcountry and can't get replacement tubes for duration of ride.Weaknesses: Weight. Poor production quality, they're cut too short, had to call and complain, but Specialized did send replacement set for free. They come with schrader valve tubes, but you can order prestas with them for twice as much. The 26 x 2.20-3" size is very difficult to mount on a Sun DS2 rim with WTB MutanoRaptor 2.24" tires. Definitely not for racers!Bottom Line: This product is good if you hate having and changing flats. Otherwise, there are pretty severe weight and sprinting speed issues. You don't notice the extra weight so much on trails, but it's there when you climb. The feel of the tubeset has a somewhat dead feeling compared to standard setups.
I would've been pissed to have spent the MSRP of $40 plus shipping from Specialized for these, but for $10, they'll do in a pinch. I'd recommend these only for recreational riders or for those who just want to have something different. The ratings are based on the sale price of $10 a set, with a free replacement set, not the $40 retail.
