Date Reviewed: November 30, 2005
Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
Price Paid: $189.00
Purchased At:eBay
Weaknesses:I bought a new Mongoose Renegade 26 inch mountain bike. On the second ride, the real tube lost air. A test in water shows an invisible tiny leaking on the Kenda tube.
Bottom Line:Junk!

Date Reviewed: May 16, 2004
Favorite Trail:too many to chose...
Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
Price Paid: $4.00
Purchased At:on bike
Strengths:they are light
Weaknesses:weakest thing ever, i could make a better tube from paper and glue
Similar Products Used:none this horrible
Bike Setup:specialized p.2
Bottom Line:crap, the only thing that is good is that they are light, but that makes no sence if they pop like gum. I have rid on theese for 6 days, and i got a flat on both tires! Unless you are stupid or theese came on your bike, they should never be inside your tire.

Favorite Trail:foxboro
Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
Price Paid: $4.00
Purchased At:jensonusa.com
Strengths:None
Weaknesses:Popped on my second ride
Similar Products Used:many
Bottom Line:I was riding down an include and went over a rock. The rock was not sharp, nor did I hit it that hard. The tube popped right away.

I weigh 185 and have a rockshock duke fork (set on the softest setting). The fact is: The tube should not have popped.

These tubes are junk.

Favorite Trail:Mount Snow
Duration Product Used:3 months
Price Paid: $12.00
Strengths:The tubes are very lightweight. The long valves are bonus when used with certain rims. Nicely packaged in twos. The way they are rolled is perfect for carring in a backpack.
Weaknesses:Haven't found a problem yet.
Similar Products Used:Intense
Bike Setup:XC Race bike
Bottom Line:Good tube, great price, awesome weight. Exactly what a tube should be.

Similar Products Used:a bunch of them
Bike Setup:norco sasquatch 2001 original setup
Bottom Line:Really don't worth 5 buck. The tube in the bike you buy at wall-mart are alot beter.

Submitted by Jim Bob a Weekend Warrior from Oakey Kanokey
Date Reviewed: June 17, 2001
Favorite Trail:The one that leads to my moonshine still
Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
Price Paid: $5.00
Strengths:None. These things are junk. They are a good value, but cheap junk is still junk.
Weaknesses:They lack the ability to hold air, which believe it or not is the main function of a tube.
Similar Products Used:Other cheapos...ones that held air.
Bottom Line:I purchased two Kenda tubes, put them on my bike, and filled them to 90 psi. The next day they had between 45 - 60 psi in them. So...I purchased two more Kenda tubes at a different bike shop, put them on, and the next morning they contained about 60 psi. It's a good thing Kenda doesn't make condoms.

Date Reviewed: January 13, 2000
Favorite Trail:Muddy Hollow to Blue Trail
Duration Product Used:2 Years
Strengths:Cheap, light weight, they don't lose air like latex
Weaknesses:none really
Similar Products Used:Salsa, lightweight butyl (same tube with gold stem)
Latex stuff
Regular butyl
Bike Setup:Santa Cruz Heckler with Mavic 517, IRC Mythos in back, Conti Leader Pro in front
Bottom Line:I have used these over the past two years and they flat no more often then regular butyl. I've had these tubes last 6 months of hard riding without a flat. This is the best way to save weight.

Submitted by Erick a Cross-Country Rider from Brimfield, MA
Date Reviewed: January 2, 2000
Favorite Trail:
Brimfield State Forest
Duration Product Used:
6 months
Strengths:
cheap
light
last a long time
Weaknesses:
don't patch well
occasional valve problems
Similar Products Used:
crappy latex
Maxxis flylight (too thin)
generic cheapie tubes
Bike Setup:
Trek 930, Judy XC, ESP 7.0, Conti Navigator ProsSpecialized Hardrock, rigid, IRC El Gatos
Bottom Line:These are a great deal on a fairly good inner tube. I picked up a dozen of these up at Mt. Snow at $2.00 apiece, and they have served me well. Relatively light weight, good resistance to pinch flats. I have only had 2 pinch flats in 5 months of riding, running about 40 psi for my 195 lbs.
One problem, though, is that on 2 of the tubes, I have had problems with the valves breaking or jamming. Overall, a good tube especially for $2. If you can find a good deal on them, get them.

Date Reviewed: December 4, 1999
Favorite Trail:
Boiling Park
Duration Product Used:
less than 1 month
Strengths:
I don't know if there are any
Weaknesses:
My brother had some of these on his K2 and he did a tail whip and when he came down he busted the tube. He also busted the Kenda Tire.
Similar Products Used:
Wrench Force Tubes
Bike Setup:
K2 Zed X Smart Fork LX drivetrain
Bottom Line:Well, I don't like these tubes. They are poor quality and so are Kenda's Tires. I am not to pleased with Wrench Force either. Have had bad luck with valves bending. Buy something better.

Submitted by Tom Doyle a Weekend Warrior from South San Francisco, California
Date Reviewed: October 3, 1999
Favorite Trail:
Montara Mountain/Old San Pedro Mtn Road
Duration Product Used:
less than 1 month
Strengths:
Low Price
Weaknesses:
Short life
Similar Products Used:
Specialized Stock Tube, Bell Stock Tube
Bike Setup:
1997 Novara Alight (REI), with Rock Shocks Jett XC, and Alex AL-MP 19F rims, Maxxis Gueutis 26x1.95 tires.
Bottom Line:Totally true story. Used a Kenda tube to replace a flat I got while riding in the Forest of Nisene Marks state park. I replaced the tube, pumped up the tire, rode 100 yards and BOOM. The tire blew. It could have been a factory defect, and since this was my first Kenda tube, I might purchase one again. However only if I have no other choice.

Date Reviewed: August 8, 1999
Favorite Trail:
Santiago Oaks
Duration Product Used:
less than 1 month
Strengths:
None
Weaknesses:
Don't even hold air out of the box
Similar Products Used:
Specialized, Ritchey, GT, etc
Bike Setup:
Dean Ti hardtail Xcountry bike.
Bottom Line:Bought 4 of these from pushy Kenda salesman at Big Bear. They wouldn't even hold air out of the box. Every single one of them was ripped at a seam.Emailed Kenda with the product numbrs, saying maybe it was defective lot, about it and kindly asked for a replacement. Well, no response by email, phone, or anything.Screw Kenda. Don't buy unless you are riding with friends that also carry tubes in case you need one! Should be negative star for the product and negative 5 for their respone (lack of).
