Surly Long Haul Trucker. Came stock.
Bottom Line:
I had three flats in under 600 miles of normal use on asphalt. Third times a charm: I threw them out tonight and I would not recommend these tires to anybody. Total waste of money unless you like pushing your bike instead of riding it. Worst tires I've ever had.

Strengths:
quick, inexpensive, light-weight tire with low rolling resistance. good choice if you're looking for a semi-slick 26" on your mtb
Weaknesses:
tends to pick up a lot of water/debris when riding in wet conditions
Similar Products Used:
first semi-slick I've tried
Bike Setup:
have these on my 04 Hardrock Pro Disc - mostly stock
Bottom Line:
Was looking for a tire to make road commuting easier on my Hardrock, these have fit the role nicely so far. Used this setup during the NYC 5 Boro Bike Tour (42 mile ride throughout NYC) in which it rained the whole day. These tires were throwing lots of water and dirt at me during the whole ride; my face and back got pretty dirty. If you plan on commuting with these tires rain or shine, then I would recommend some fenders to prevent debris/water getting all over you. Otherwise, I've been very happy with these tires. I feel much quicker accelerating, climbing, and maintaining speed; was even able to keep up with and pass many roadies during the NYC bike tour. Haven't had any flats yet (knock on wood) although I've only had them on for a couple months.

Strengths:
Fast rolling when aired up to 65 lbs and on a hard surface. Cheap at $16.
Weaknesses:
Puncture prone. 7 flats in 1431 miles. The soft rubber tends to hold rock shards that then work their way into the tread over time. Inspecting the tube I could see where it was abraded over the miles rather than a clean slice all at once. As a result I would spend time after every ride digging out the shards to try to prevent further flats the next day.

Bike Setup:
Surly Long Haul Trucker touring bike. Slickasaurus was the OEM tire that came with the bike.
Bottom Line:
These tires are too likely to get a flat. There are other choices, at slightly higher price points, that yield a more trouble free tire. If the bike came with these tires I would go ahead and run them to get a few miles out of them, but after getting some good out of them they would be coming off.

Most notably they're durable and they ride great on the roads! And you can get them almost anywhere for really cheap; or at least cheaper than any other slicks.
Weaknesses:
For the money, NONE!

All manner of knobby tires.
Bike Setup:

Bottom Line:
First, you'll never ever find a better pair of slicks for the money; and money aside, they hold up and ride amazing! If you plan to do any kind of commuting on the road, but don't want to g oall out and buy a road bike or have to ride around on knobby tires, these are exactly what you're looking for!

Sometimes feels like it's "floating" a bit
Won't give me an opportunity to replace it
I got this tire, used, about 2 years ago from a community bike project in San Francisco. I've been riding it on my rear wheel almost every day for the last year or so. This thing does *not* wear out. I've had a few flats from glass, but they are few and far between. I also love skid-stopping by locking up my rear brake, and this tire still refuses to give up. The only minor, minor quibble I have is that sometimes I get the impression from the ride quality that the thing is getting flat (sort of "floating") when it's not. This sensation is extremely rare, and I have no problems trusting it everyday when I swoop into traffic from the Williamsburg bridge. This is a great, low-resistance, high-confidence 26" road tire.

Strengths:
Extremely fast, low rolling resistance, seems quite durable, rolls good on dirt roads and rail trails as well as pavement, reduces "road buzz" felt thru the handlebars
Weaknesses:
not good in wet off road conditions, wet grass or mud, but what do you expect, it's a slick, not a knobby, looks kinda' silly on my Trek 4500, skinny tires in a beefy looking front fork look wierd
Similar Products Used:
Serfas Vermin Semi-Slicks, stock Bonty Jones AC (yuck)
Bike Setup:
Fila Taos commuter and mostly stock Trek 4500
Bottom Line:
I put a pair of these on my old rigid Fila commuter MTB a couple months ago and was very happy with them, easily gained 3-5 MPH over the stock crappy Kenda knobbies on the bike, gave the old Fila a more road-freindly feel, and at the moment i spend more time on the road anyway
since i was happy with them on the Fila, i bought another set for the Trek, they roll just as well on that bike as well, they also cut down the "road buzz" i got with the stock Bonty Jones AC tires, and to a lesser extent with the Serfas Vermin semi-slicks i replaced the Bontys with, the Vermin has a center tread bead consisting of little "pyramid" shaped nubbins, great on dirt roads and rail trails, but still produced road buzz. since the Slickasaurus is a slick, there's no knobs or "pyramids" to create road buzz, theyy're also a good deal quieter than the Bontys and Serfas Vermin
if you're riding primarily dry road, fire roads, dirt roads, or rail-trails, they're a great tire, if you're riding in wet off-road conditions (wet grass or the above wet dirt road surfaces) these tires will *NOT* work well for you, match them to conditions and they're great

Bottom Line:
bought these so i could do some event road rides. very easy to mount for a 1.5 and more puncture resistant than some other street tires. they're about 2 mph faster than the kwests i had before (which were a pain to mount and got lots of flats). corners well at speed - 43 mph max for me.
in general i dread street tires but these make my bike fun on road training rides. when these wear out i'm buying them again!
p.s. i do recommend using sealant in your tubes if you run in areas with lots of debris like i do.

Smoothness. These tires are fast and very smooth.
Weaknesses:
None that I've seen yet.
Similar Products Used:
Michelin Wildgripper Rock
Bike Setup:
Trek 800 (stock, off the shelf).
Bottom Line:
I moved to Hawaii a couple of years ago, and have since commuted almost exclusively by bicycle (riding my Trek's stock knobbies first, then converting to Wildgripper Rocks, and now the Slickasaurus). Each conversion has resulted in a smoother, faster, more enjoyable ride, and the Slickasaurus tires have been super, since they allow smooth cornering at much higher speeds than the Rocks did (a nice feature to have when coming down some of the steep streets around here).
Of the three tires I've ridden so far here, these are the only ones I'd buy again for the type of riding I do (a lot of commuting, plus a handful of road events).

reliable as! ive ridden them maybe 20k's per week for 3 years and theyre still same as after one month.
Weaknesses:
my brother and i both had the same break-in period of getting about 3 or 4 punctures (back tyre) in the first month, but after that theyve been excellent. maybe they harden up a little and roll over bits they kick up when new(and sticky).

Bottom Line:
these look a bit scabby when i look close (mine picked up quite a few nicks), but they did after the first month so im not fretting any more. i only ever ride them on the road and for that theyve been great. these were the first all black slicks i saw for an mtb rim and they looked nice and smooth so i got em. i hate gum-wall tyres. ill buy em again and maybe avoid glass more diligently in the first month or so. im very happy with them. cannot give 5 because i havent tried any other slicks.

Bottom Line:
Over 500 kms down the track, these slicks are going strong. I use these regularly for commuting, and training and these tyres have not shown any sign of wear. They corner well, even at really high pressures and have very little rolling resistance, as you would expect from a slick. A bit hard to get off the rim though- buy tyre levers.
