Strengths: Cheap, lightweight, good grip in hardpack and soft/medium conditions, handles a bit of mud OK, rolls well, stableWeaknesses: Loses grip in loose gravel and 'baby head' surfaces, but what tyre doesn't? Fairly small volume with less 'float' than other 2.0" tyres I've used, higher pressures neededBottom Line: I picked up a pair of kevlar beaded FLT Race 26" tyres from an internet clearance sale, not expecting much performance. I was pleasantly surprised. The central block strip provides good climbing grip and straight line stability. Cornering grip is not bad for a rounded profile skinny tyre, with slides very progressive and predictable. The low volume, combined with a hardtail frame, makes for a rough ride down technical descents. Definitely worth a try for XC hardpack events if you're on a budget.
I have rated them 4 chillis because of the price, but they would probably rate 3 chillis if they weren't so cheap.
