Strengths:    Very fast, low rolling resistance

Weaknesses:    Cornering. Cornering. Cornering.

Bottom Line:
At first I thought these tires were the bomb, but regular wash outs with the front wheel on hard pack has left me a serious doubter. For marathon racing it might just work, but not so for XCO. Had one near miss on the weekend, and two pretty serious falls due to front wheel just not gripping through the corners. Tire has around 1000km on, doesn't show any real signs of wear yet. Certainly going back to Captain again.

Strengths:    One of the fastest rolling tires I have ever run.

Weaknesses:    This sidewalls don't inspire confidence going over shale, no grip whatsoever in wet muddy conditions (yet to find a race ready XC tire that doesn't lack in the regard, however).

Bottom Line:
Never had a great experience with bike manufacturer made tires (Specialized and especially Bontrager which are just horrible). I had my doubts before trying them, but if you are running these things tubless on a 18lb carbon hardtail, they freaking scream down the trail considering it hasn't rained in a while. In mud they are hopeless, but I've yet to find a light race tire that isn't. They were also near impossible to remount to the carbon roval wheels while converting to tubeless.

Some say they bleed and burp air easily, but I havn't had any issues with this, probably depends on how great a seal you are able to make...if in doubt have a bike shop do it that has experiance with the roval rims and these tires. I've hammered these things downhill on steep technical trails with plenty of 2-3' drop offs with no issue. So far have about 200 miles on them and hardly showing visible wear. I'd rate these as "pretty good" race tires. None are perfect.
