Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
Price Paid: $19.00
Purchased At:Porto Alegre - Brazil
Strengths:Lateral band out rim for protect of "snake-bite".
High.
Hard rubber for long durability. This is good for rider who buy themselves stuffs.
Specialized quality.
Weaknesses:I think it is not a real 2.3, maybe 2.25 or 2.2.
It is not good for DH racers because the hard rubber do not adhere the ground like a "50 compost" tire.
Similar Products Used:Michellin 50 compost, Maxxis Mofo, Maxxis High Roller, Mythos IRC, Kenda 2.5, WTB Tyrannoraptor 52/54, WTB Velociraptor 47/52.
Bike Setup:http://www.eder.com.br/mx2-8
Bottom Line:Excellent tire for the price - U$ 19.
Very good for free ride and amateur Downhill.

Submitted by Beelzebub a Weekend Warrior from Adelaide, S.A.,Australia
Date Reviewed: November 26, 2001
Favorite Trail:Dildo run, Beer run
Duration Product Used:3 months
Price Paid: $21.00
Purchased At:J.T. cycles Adelaide
Strengths:2.5" wide, big, fat, knobbly tyre that sticks like poo to a blanket. Thick sidewalls & bead locks allow for low pressures. Hooks up immediately upon touchdown. Confers confidence at silly speeds, pointing nicely while it's weight minimises deflection. Slides progressively. Hard compound makes it a good choice for riding where bitumin transport sections would eat pricey soft compound tyres.
Weaknesses:None worth complaining about, except the 2.5" wont fit the rear of my bike, it hits the front derailleur cage in the granny ring.
Similar Products Used:Ritchey Zmax, WTB Motoraptor, some other round black tyres with Knobs on them.
Bike Setup:Avanti Manic frameset, Marzocchi Z2 (I'd love a Z1 but need to buy food etc.),Azonic bars & stem, Mavic 217 SUPs laced to LX hubs, XTR V brakes, XT shifters & derailleurs, LX cranks & cluster.
Bottom Line:A great, confidence inspiring trail riding tyre for those who like to give it a nudge each time they go out. The stability of this tyre allows me to outrun most of my hardtail mounted mates and even stay with the duallies on some decents. Stangely enough it works better in the hard conditions it's designed for, which augers well for a long hot Adelaide summer. On a final very superficial note, the width of the tyre looks very tough on the front of the bike, like you've rolled some kid for the hoop off their YZ 80 motocross bike.
