Date Reviewed: August 30, 2004
Favorite Trail:any cross country
Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
Price Paid: $35.00
Purchased At:Bicyle Sport Shop
Strengths:The tire inspired confidence on the trail. Once I got the tire pressure correct I was able to rock and roll! The tires climed like a madman and cornered like they were on rails, sand and loose dirt fogetta bout it. All I can say is that these tires ROCK!
Weaknesses:Don't run the pressure too low. Other than that I could'nt find a thing wrong with them at all and beleive me I tried.
Similar Products Used:specialized team control and ground control 1.90's
Bike Setup:2001 Giant XTC SE1 frame Sid Sl,Mavic517's,Thomson stem and seat post Shimamo Deore' Lx/Xt componets Xt bottom bracket= 23 1/2lbs
Bottom Line:The bottom line is this, these tires are way under priced. If you have 75.00$ ttl you can have a rockin set of treads! 5 chilis

Date Reviewed: May 13, 2004
Favorite Trail:any available
Duration Product Used:6 months
Price Paid: $34.00
Purchased At:bicycle sports shop
Strengths:Great traction,corner like they're ment to,climb well,good low pressure tire.
Weaknesses:A little on the heavy side should weigh 70 grms less, slow to get up to speed
Similar Products Used:different cross country tires same size 2.0s
Bike Setup:94 GTKorakoram frame,Cook Brothers cranks,Race Face b.b,Cane creek s-2 head set Thomsom stem Bontregar Crow bars,Titec seat post,xt components 8spd,Avid brakes,517rear wheel bontregar corvair front wheel,Marzocchi z.2 bomber
Bottom Line:These tires work well in dry to damp comditions, climb really well once they're rolling up to speed. These tires really suprised me and work okay in sand but do wash in sand but do catch after hitting firm ground.I've been riding for 11 yrs. and am 37yrs old 157 in weight ride as aggresivly as possible.I found it really hard to make these tires lose traction in turns even pushing them hard through the trails.Good climbing traction.excelent down hill control good predictable tire great to help with installing confidence on the trail. Well built tire needs to be lightened up.Over all not to bad of a tire.I chaged to different tire Hutchinson mosquito Air Lights.due to the weight problem and rolling resistance.give'em a 3 pepper for the weight and rolling issue.

Submitted by Julie a Weekend Warrior from Encinitas,Ca,USA
Date Reviewed: May 7, 2004
Favorite Trail:Many
Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
Strengths:Nice cushy ride. Good traction over loose terrain, but pretty low rolling resistance on hard pack too.
Weaknesses:I don't know how long they'll last. I've only ridden them about 25 miles.
Similar Products Used:Bontrager Revolt Super X (pretty good for such tiny knobs), Bontrager Jones (good on rear), Panaracer FireXC..OK but no raves for me.Klein Deathgrip...heavy, but a real grippy tire...unfortunately had a deathgrip on the rim and was impossible to change.
Bike Setup:Klein Adept Pro, XTR, Avid V brakes,Bontrager Ultralite wheels, Terry Damselfly
Bottom Line:So far so good. The first ride on these I ran them too soft because I was used to 30-35 lbs on the narrow, stiff, square profile Deathgrips. They felt very plush, but squirelly with weird tracking. The next time I put them up to 45 and they were MUCH better. Tracked well..good grip on cornering and handled technical waterbars, rocks, sand much better than the Deathgrips. Quite a bit lighter too.
