Strengths:    traction, cornering, braking, durable, good in dry loose coditions

Weaknesses:    can be prone to pinchflats more than some other tires I`ve tried, so I make sure there is the correct amount of pressure. Not a mud tire

Bottom Line:
All agressive knobby tires make whistling noises or buzzing sounds on pavement or cement.
This tire was on my very first mountain bike the venerable Bridgestone MB1, and since i grew up with this tire in the sport of mountain biking I compare all other tires to this model

Strengths:    Good grip on corners.Good traction for climbing.Good for most surfaces except mud.Black-walls.

Weaknesses:    A little heavy with the wire bead.

Bottom Line:
Good tires for most surfaces at a good price.Kevlar, folding versions should be lighter. These tires were fitted to my Bridgestone MB1 and they worked so well, they stayed on my bike.
Recommended tires for climbing and cornering and downhilling on vintage mountain bikes.
P.S. All knobbies buzz on pavement.;-)

Strengths:    Proven world class winning tread design. Handels a lot like the WTB Velociraptor 2.1" (steel).

Weaknesses:    Whistles loudly on asphalt and cement, puntures where treads are not present.

Bottom Line:
Lasted for 1yr (1997-1998) just like the WTB Velociraptor 2.1" (rear). It had the same good & bad aspects as those of the WTB Velociraptor. It was replaced (front + rear) for a new set of Panaracer Fire XC Pro's when they first came out (1998 ?).
Bottom Line: A different tread pattern offered by a different manufacturer.
