Strengths:    Durable; amazing corning abilities, price

Weaknesses:    Hard to find in shops. Buy online.

Bottom Line:
I rarely write reviews. I've used this as a front tire on several different bikes. So this review is limited to front use. While I've tried a number of different tires over the years, I always come back to this one for a front tire. The cornering is amazing, especially on loose rocky decents. Something about the profile of the tire just makes it hook up and remain highly predictable at the limit. The compound is on the firm side making it very durable. Lack of sipes might hold it back some on hard polished "greasy" mud or ice, but works great in deep mud or snow. Truly an under-rated tire. Wish it came in a tubeless version.

Strengths:    Big knobbies! Cornering

Weaknesses:    Heavy

Bottom Line:
Best dang set of tires I have ever bought. Corner with confidence. Awesome braking traction. I have had no pinch flats. Long even wear pattern. Look bad-*ss. You feel like a BAMF when using them. Get a set and try
them out.

Strengths:    Really big, high volume tire, incredible traction, lean well, handle lots of abuse

Weaknesses:    God these are heavy tires

Bottom Line:
I replaced the stock tires on my Trek Fuel EX7 with these bad boys. I can say I'm really happy with these tires - the traction is just incredible - climbing, braking, or leaning them over in the turns. The air volume on these things is HUGE, they kind of wrap around whatever you're pedaling over. I can't brake traction climbing. Only one pinch flat since I got them, and that was just because I wanted to see how low pressure I could get away with. They're really heavy though, don't roll smoothly (you feel the lugs hitting the ground at low speeds), so if that's what you want go elsewhere. But if you're willing to sacrifice that for crazy control going down then get 'em.

Strengths:    Grabby, great direction (as a front tire), great flotation over rocks, pretty gnarly looks

Weaknesses:    I would have rather had it colorless, all black sidewall (I have the red one)

Bottom Line:
I have gained alot of confidence after riding with this tire. Super grabby in turns, very good direction and looks sweet to boot

Panaracer Fire FR Pairing

I'm going to run the FR up front on a Mavic EN521 tubeless and I'm looking for another tire to run in the rear that's a bit lighter and faster rolling. I'd prefer another Panaracer but I'm open to suggestions. Bike is a Heckler, riding style is trail/AM and terrain is typical Colorado dry and rocky. ... Read More »

Panaracer Fire FR vs High Roller

I'm currently running 2.1 fire xc front and rear. The rear I LOVE, but the front feels like an ice skate. I have ran a 2.35 High Roller on the front before and was very happy with it BUT I wouldnt mind using the Fire FR on the front so my tires match (I have the red ones) Between the High Rolle ...
