Strengths: Fast rolling, light weight, sheds mud very goodWeaknesses: Not as good traction as Nevegals, but Nevegals are slowBottom Line: After reading the review on Mountain Bike Action magazine, I was very disappointed by the lack of points it received. I think these tires are very good overall. Yes they don't hook up as nicely as Kenda Nevagals but these tires corner nicely and have a good balance of speed, traction, weight and mud shedding. I ride these tires in all conditions: hard pack, muddy, loose over hard pack, rocky/roots. The tread pattern is just the right amount of nobbies and angled for just the right amount of bite. Personally, I like these over the Nevegals as so many riders praise for their all condition capability. MBA gave them reduced marks for skidding on downhills - isn't that the rider? The Wild Grip'rs are harder, lighter and faster than Nevegals (soft and heavy). You can climb up pretty quick, where Nevegals slow you down/ work you out for their suppleness. Give them a shot, I didn't expect much but they've exceeded my expectations. Cheap price too! Like buying 2 folding tires for the price of 1!
