Submitted by schneidie a Downhiller from Storrs, Ct
Date Reviewed: November 1, 2009
Favorite Trail:Threshold
Duration Product Used:6 months
Price Paid: $20.00
Purchased At:Kenda Trailer
Strengths:Great grip in open grass fields/mud
Price
Weaknesses:Grip on rocks and roots is very poor compared to WetScream
Similar Products Used:Maxxis WetScream, Maxxis SwampThing
Bike Setup:Sinister r9, 888, vivid5.1, sram x.7
Bottom Line:This tire is OK for a wet muddy downhill course. I'd avoid it on something really rocky (think slickrock highway at mount snow) as it likes to slide around. I did a few collegiate races on these (one at lehigh where it was nearly 100% mud with very few rocks) and they behaved very well.
For the price, there is no comparison for mud tires, but it'd be better to spend the extra money on a set of WetScreams

Favorite Trail:La Mesa nature Reserve
Duration Product Used:3 months
Purchased At:Extreme Bike Shop
Strengths:If you're tired from slipping and sliding when you ride on muddy terrain, then this is the tire for you. Though they're relatively small at 1.8" in diameter, the tall knob dig through the mud to give you the traction you need.
Weaknesses:These tires seem to wear out faster than the usual cross country tire.
Similar Products Used:Specialized Team Master and Team Control, IRC Mythos, Kenda Nevegals
Bike Setup:KHS Team Alite frame, Rock Shox Reba SL fork, Shimano XTR components, Chris King hubs, Mavic 819 rims, Crank Brothers Eggbeaters pedals
Bottom Line:- Great tires for muddy terrain. After a few rides, it makes you more confident.
- They wear out fast.

Submitted by Cycle Nomad a Cross Country Rider from In the Hudson Valley, NY
Date Reviewed: October 19, 2008
Favorite Trail:dumb question
Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
Price Paid: $38.00
Purchased At:online somewhere
Strengths:Excellent traction in loose rocky and muddy soil. It seemed like a perfect tire for the Fall conditions here in the Hudson Valley
Weaknesses:I've used it for a few weeks (three times a week rider on dirt always) and the knobs seemed to be wearing quickly.(but they are tall)

Paper thin sidewalls give this tire a limited lifespan.
Similar Products Used:Nevegals, Blue Groove,etc...
Bike Setup:Hardtail with 120mm fork
Bottom Line:I love the traction these tires give and don't mind that the knobs seemed to wear quickly. I figure that was because they are so tall.

After a few (2 or 3) weeks the sidewall was slashed by a rock and now they are trash.
The sidewalls are paper thin and I'm not surprised it was torn so easily.
If Kenda made these tires with some kind of sidewall protection, they'd be awesome tires.

Buy them if you really want some great traction and don't mind replacing them every few weeks, but I need something more durable.
