Strengths:    Mud will not stick to 'em. They grip on pretty much everything. They work very well as "suspension" on a rigid singlespeed.

Weaknesses:    They're a bit heavy, but so am I. Up front it washes out a bit in loose, sandy corners.

Bottom Line:
I keep coming back to these tires after trying the others in my similar products list. They shed every type of muck I've put them through. I feel like I'm attacking corners instead of surviving them like on the Notos & Kharma. Pinch flat resistant technology = low pressure rigid singlespeed cush! There are only 3 sandy corners on the trails I ride most often, so it isn't that big a weakness for me. If you can get your hands on some, go for it!

Strengths:    Sheds mud
Good grip in a variety of conditions

Weaknesses:    Heavy, but not as heavy as a tire packed with mud.

Bottom Line:
I wanted a beefy front tire that sheds mud, and this fits the bill. It's also surprisingly competent on hard pack and gravel, inspires confidence in the corners. I planned to replace it with something lighter once the trails dried out, but I'm holding off. For 14 bucks, I think I'll get another for the rear this winter.

Strengths:    i bought these because they were cheap and i use them for general trail riding and really like them. they're tough as hell and grip everything.

Weaknesses:    a little heavy i guess. and really hard to mount.

Bottom Line:
if you can get them cheap they make a good all around tire, not just a DH tire.

Strengths:    GREAT grippy tyre in loose soil and mud etc.
Very grippy and not too bouncy on hard stuff like rocks etc...

Weaknesses:    Needs to be inflated to atleast 45 PSI, as with all kevlar bead tyres, it will roll of the rim if it is too low.

Bottom Line:
Great tyre, really really good, i have no need to ramble on about it because it just is a really good tyre.

Oh yeh, it doesnt wear fast either.

Strengths:    these tires are tough and have a ton of tread. i use them as a trail tire and they do the job. i bought them because they were $10 and i figured after this wet winter they would be good for spring. they are, and theyre good on the dry stuff too.

Weaknesses:    heavy, sort of bouncy on rocks, probably my fault for putting in too much air

Bottom Line:
these are good tires, especially if you can get them for $10. the name says DH but theyre not that wide and i would imagine they make a much better trail tire than downhill tire. they are heavy but offer pretty good traction. for my next tire im gonna go with something the same width with a shorter tread.

Strengths:    Excellent traction in mud and soft soil. Surprisingly good on rough ice and snow. Seems like a really strong and tough tire.

Weaknesses:    Heavy, not great for hard surfaces. Not as good as Nokian Extreme (metal studs) for ice.

Bottom Line:
With Nashbar selling these for $10, I figured I'd give them a try, since this winter has been a pain for riding - the fourth snowiest winter in over 100 years. The Mud Mad tires have better traction in the snow than the Nokians I usually use for winter ice riding, and are much better in the soft soil and marshy mud between the snow patches, as winter finally fades.
I don't have to worry so much about tearing up the tree roots with these tires, although the downside is that they slip on the roots a bit more then the Nokians. I was amazed to find myself riding up very steep slopes without spinning the tires, in places where I often lose traction in loose soil in dry weather. With a good grip on the ground, I'm not contributing to the erosion of the trails as much as if my tires were spinning.
I just finished thirty miles riding through melting snow and ice, standing and flowing water everywhere, wet leaves, wet sand, marshy mud, etc., and I was very impressed with the traction and ability to keep going everywhere except the deepest snow drifts.
I can't say how they will do in sticky clay-based mud, since we don't have much of that in New England.
The DH model is probably stronger and heavier than the regular Mud Mad, and I would probably recommend the regular for most trail-riding purposes, if the price is the same. For my adventure-style riding, I think the DH version will be more thorn-resistant, so I may be using them again in the fall for riding over the rough mowed fields and brambles.

--> If these tires are still available at $10, buy 'em!

Strengths:    tough tough tough

Weaknesses:    pretty squirrely in anything soft or loamy.

Bottom Line:
Very tough tire. Too cheap to buy new tires till I wear these out. The first 1/4 of the tread came off pretty quickly but they still have 1/2 the knobby left after riding mainly on hard pack and pavement.(very noisy on pavement and rough) Not good for cornering at all...but that's not what they are made for. I've turned them around on front and back to get every bit of life out of them and they just won't die! Good value.

Strengths:    Grippy, grip grip grip.
Kevlar bead.
hard wearing
puncture resistance.
Fly MX looks.

Weaknesses:    Means you have to join the "Ive got a garage full of tyres" brigade.

Bottom Line:
These tyres are great, they are ultra grippy in the mud, and not so bad on everything else. \the main problem with spikes etc is that as soon as you hit anything harder than water, they squirm like a b******d. IRC have got around this by using flat knobbles on these tyres, which allow enough rubber to hit the ground to keep you going over the hard stuff. The knobbles are well spaced so mud clearance is not a problem. Another review says they should be wider - well maybe, maybe not. too wide and theyed sit on the mud like a baloon, I reckon they are spot on in terms of size. Puncture resistant kevlar beaded casings make em tough and easy to use, just dont run them too low pressure or they'll fall off the rim (a fault of kevlar tyres - not just mud mads) having said that, why would you run these soft? they are meant to run at a reasonable pressure, thats when they work best.

All in all the best tyres I have - ok they are 60 quid a pair, and you can only really use them in the mud, but if you want good mud tyres, you are going to have to have more than 1 set of tyres. They do EXACTLY what thy claim, and a little more,so I reckon these should be in your garage ready for next winter. (Or next week for those of us in the UK).

nice design
alow awesome cornerings even in wet condition

Weaknesses:    it should be 2.35
don't try to ride on hardpack

Bottom Line:
if you buy this tire make sure to have another one for other terrain condition it's a very specific tire design for mud ,and won't help you on other terrains

Strengths:
Excellent mud tyre. The wide knob spacing clears quickly and the low knob height isn't as skitterish on rock and roots as some other mud tyres. couldn't beleive the grip on off camber turns, you can hold a lot tighter line and leave your braking till later as the tyre will rail you around.

Bottom Line:
Excellent tyres, can be run in almost any condition other than hardpack

Bottom Line:
for autumn, winter, spring riding in the UK
these puppys really allow you to carve your turns, even on the off- camber stuff, which means more time riding, less time building berms
