Cross Country Compound feature a 65 durometer which is slightly softer than traditional XC rubber, but hard enough that it still rolls fast. C3 is slight slower rebounding with excellent dampening characteristics which provide better traction for cornering and climbing. It also has less deflection through rocky sections which stay in contact with the ground under braking better than a standard compound. Size: 26 x 2.0". Kevlar. Blackwall.

Titus RacerX, Crossmax wheels w/ Intense System 1 and Stan's Tubeless, XTR cranks/cassette/V-brakes, SRAM 9.0 shifters/deraillers, Manitou Mars fork, WTB Laser Stealth saddle, Thomson post & stem, King headset.
Bottom Line:
Best tires I've ever had, hands down, no question. Better than Pythons, better than Ritcheys. Better than Michelin Wildgrippers. Go get them now and forget about screwing around with wasting time and money on other tires, as I have done for the last three years. Intense did their homework. The knobs look wimpy and insignificant, but aren't. These tires hook up everywhere and roll fast - not as fast as Michelin Wildgrippers, but their stability and handling make up for it tenfold. Intense says System 1 is for intermediate to soft terrain, but they work better than most tires I've tried in dry/loose hardpack, even the Pythons (which are squirmy under low pressure). This is due to their rounded, wide profile, soft rubber, and low knob height. Running w/ Stan's sealant and strips to lighten 'em up and enhance trail feel. I put the System 3 slicks on my hardtail for cruising light trails and riding around the city.
