Date Reviewed: October 2, 2009
Favorite Trail:Depends what mood
Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
Price Paid: $30.00
Purchased At:Chainreactioncycles.
Strengths:Amazing grip on all surfaces.
Clears very quickly
Hardly no rolling resistance compared to my old Nevgals
Great power transfer, you put the power down and the tyre just digs in and holds it.
Also one of the best braking tyres Iv used to date. No locking up or massive amount of "sliding".
Weaknesses:Rolling resistance on the road is clearly hardwork but thats what you get with all MTB tyres.
Sluggish feel while turning, but again its a massive 2.5inch tyre! So what do you expect?
Did wash out only once on VERY loose gravel but still was predictable enough to control.
Similar Products Used:Kenda nevgals in all compounds.
Specialized tyres (cant remember the name)
Maxxis ADvantage.
Bike Setup:6" trail/lite freeride beast! RS Lyrik, Fox shock and Elixir brakes.
Bottom Line:The trails I ride contain a huge range of different types of surfaces including; hard dry clay, soft forest dirt. As well as tight off-cambers, rolling single-track, short yet steep climbs and fast, twisty and technical downhills. This tyre has lived up to its name and just digs into the dirt. I love it :D

Date Reviewed: July 24, 2009
Favorite Trail:Platty/Diablo
Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
Price Paid: $35.00
Purchased At:Online
Strengths:Very unique tread pattern
Grips loose and muddy tracks very well
Sheds mud better than Maxxis DHR 3Cs
Weaknesses:Pinch Flats
Pinch Flats
Pinch Flats
Similar Products Used:Too many to list
Bike Setup:Typical DH bike, with fork and shock setup for racing (pushed)…
Bottom Line:I have been swapping back in forth between the Maxxis 3Cs and Continental Diggas and so far I can tell you that:

The Diggas grip almost as well as the 3Cs on dry tracks.
The Diiggas grip better on loose or wet conditions compared to the 3Cs (my option)

I really want to like these (Digga) tires as they are inexpensive and grip really well, but I pinch flat like a mofo. I use the same amount or more air pressure (28psi - 30psi) as I do with the Maxxis, but I just keep getting flats with the Diggas. I may have gotten a bad set of Diggas, so this weekend I am going to rock a brand new set and start out with 32 psi. If I don’t flat, I will create another post here at MTBR.

Similar Products Used:Michelin Comp16, Comp24, Comp32. Maxxis High Roller, Minion.

Date Reviewed: June 8, 2008
Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
Price Paid: $50.00
Purchased At:Cambria
Strengths:Good for loose stuff. It's very sturdy and can run low psi without fear of pinch flats. Good straight line tire on hard pack.
Weaknesses:Pushes too much on hard pack.
Bike Setup:08 transition blindiside with lots of goodies.
Bottom Line:Good tire if riding in loose areas like northstar and such but it pushes too much on hard pack. I went to do a high speed turn the other day and the tire washed out causing me and my bike to suffer damage (derailleur hanger on the bike and a spraind wrist).

Favorite Trail:Pinehill Trails
Duration Product Used:3 months
Price Paid: $34.00
Purchased At:Wheel World
Strengths:Tracks great, plenty of traction to go around, digs in in the croners, and a very tacky compound.
Weaknesses:Not quite 2.5 in size more like a 2.3 maybe 2.4. Heavy tire
Similar Products Used:Tioga Factory DH, Tioga Yellow Kirin, and Bontrager Big Earls
Bike Setup:Custom Stinky and Custom Howler
Bottom Line:Great tire, phenominal grip, Just buy the damn tire already!

Date Reviewed: September 22, 2006
Favorite Trail:7 Stanes Scotland
Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
Strengths:Astounding grip. Air tight. Sheds mud easily.
Weaknesses:Weight and drag in 2.5 size - to be expected! Tread picks up loose gravel - need for mud fenders.
Similar Products Used:Kenda Nevegal / Blue Groove
Bike Setup:Ventana El Saltamontes
Bottom Line:This is a review for tubeless version.
I only use these tyres for hardcore XC. Not suited for all day hacking. I recommend these for All mountain/freeride/DH. They track very well and instill confidence when railing corners - good grip on edges.
