Strengths:    Fast. This thing rides like a big, fat, floaty road tire yet has remarkable traction within its intended range. I use it on my commuter in a 42/kevlar (36.5mm actual width) and it's fantastic on paved, hardpack dirt, gravel roads, side slopes, wet roads and snow. Unlike many tires in this size which are mostly touring tires, it's light, supple and provides a very comfortable ride. Unlike all the other file tread cyclocross tires which have a diamond shaped tread in the center section, this has 1.7mm raised squares which provide a zillion little edges for traction which as it wears still maintains those edges. Once the points wear off other tires, and wear they quickly do, they begin to lose traction.

Pretty cheap. It's a high quality tire and you can find the Kevlars for $30 online.

Weaknesses:    Mud, do not expect it to be anything other than a packed up, fat, slippery slick.

I think it'd be better with U or L shaped side lugs, but Conti likes it's triangles....

Not really a weakness but, it's light and supple = not overbuilt, don't expect to shred rock gardens on it or I'd expect you'd shred the sidewalls too. I've had zero problems with mine on the appropriate surfaces.

Bottom Line:
Fast, comfortable and still good traction at half the cost of other high end Cyclocross or Gravel tires. What's not to love?

Strengths:    Fast rolling, corners well on gravel, cheap

Weaknesses:    Tread not significant enough for grip on loose terrain.

Bottom Line:
For its intended purpose this is a great tire. I use this as my gravel riding tire. It rolls fast on hard surfaces but has enough volume (actually measures 39mm wide) so that is has a comfortable ride when it gets a little bumpy. It has enough grip for general use, but you have to work it a bit on steep, loose climbs. The side knobs are small enough not to be a disadvantage on paved corners but big enough to give you more confidence and control cornering on loose surfaces.

I paid $20 each for these tires in a wire bead, and they were a great value, not too heavy either. The same tread pattern is now sold as the SPEED Ride, but with a Kevlar bead and puncture protection, and coming it at a lower weight. I would definitely recommend these for anyone considering gravel tires, as long as they can fit them on their bike.
