Favorite Trail:Warden Woods
Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
Price Paid: $30.00
Purchased At:Trail Blazer Cycles
Strengths:-Looks really nice in polished aluminum.
-Long handle makes tightening and loosening easier.
-Matches the aluminum flanges on my King hubs
Weaknesses:-Poorly built.
-Didn't even get to ride with them on my bike before they broke.
Similar Products Used:Steel Shimano Deore (1986) Skewers......and these are way better than the WTB skewers, just heavier.
Bike Setup:Raleigh Frame, XTR and Race Face drive train...light and fast.
Bottom Line:The reason why I have selected "less than 1 month" for the time used is because upon the first installation of the rear skewer, it snapped! I just built the wheels for this bike, got them all adjusted and setup just perfect, put on the front skewer, tensioned it just right. No problem. Put on the rear wheel and started to adjust the skewer to get it to the right tension.....but just as I got it to just the right tension and closed the handle.....SNAP......I thought I had busted the threading on the King Hub. Took off the rear wheel, checked the hub, not a scratch......so I put the wheel back on and started to tighten the skewer, when I noticed it wouldn't tighten.........the little nut that holds the skewer handle to the steel rod had stripped its threading........

Bottom line: These skewers look really nice, but unfortunately they are crap! Now, after almost a year of building and fine tuning......I have a set back that is preventing me from riding this monster......

Favorite Trail:hobergs loop
Duration Product Used:1 Year
Strengths:good track record
Weaknesses:I had bad time with these
Similar Products Used:none yet
Bike Setup:Jamis dakar expert 2000,mostly stock
Bottom Line:My rear qr just plane sucks, it slips out on every climb. problems started about two months ago and no amount of lube seems to quill the prob. I'm upgrading to XT's, XTR's, or Salsa's today.... Friend recomends avoiding any skewer with a plastic doo-hicky on it,plastic can save some wieght but compromises strength.

Date Reviewed: March 29, 2001
Duration Product Used:6 months
Price Paid: $35.00
Purchased At:online
Strengths:If looks could kill this would be a serial killA.
Long levers allow to you to tighten the wheel very tight.
Didn't brake yet, and the availiable colors kick azz
Weaknesses:Since they are long I'm afraid they might just snap one day so I'm a little cautious of that. A little pricey for what I paid
Bottom Line:I'd probably get the Kores next time since I'm really scared that these will snap on me :)
