Strengths:    None. A failed skewer has no strengths. And there were used on a road bike.

Weaknesses:    The lever is glued to the holding pin.my front one failed. The rear one pulled apart with ease.
Here is TUNES response.
Hello John,

we´re so sad to see this damage. But you can repair the skewer at youself. You only need some Loctite glue.

Clean the silver rivet and put some glue into the drilling from the lever, put the lever through the skewer head and the excentrical sleeve. Put the silver rivet from the opposite in the drilling from the exentrical sleeve and the repair is done.

Please wait a night before you use the skewer again.

best regards
Manuel Dold

Bottom Line:
Avoid at all costs. Dangerous design and cavalier approach to failure.

Strengths:    Strong and lightweight. Very sleek.

Weaknesses:    Extremely dangerous closing mechanism (or should I say lack of a proper one) - no stopper mechanism like in normal quick releases, leading to the lever being able to swing right around (360 degrees) with the possibility of ripping through rotating spokes and damaging disc brake (best case scenario) and leading to possible crash resulting in serious injury or death (worst case scenario).
Overly expensive.

Bottom Line:
Poorly designed with regard to safety. Tune need to go back to the drawing board with this one and get the simple things right. Especially at that price!

Strengths:    Lightest ever, strong, technically perfect and beautiful

Weaknesses:    Price

Bottom Line:
Both of them weigh less than one XTR skewer. Never failed, strong. Clamp mechanism simple and extremely effective - and I do only ride where there is no trail or road.
Worth the price

Strengths:    low weight, look nice

Weaknesses:    not strong enough, clamp mechanism unsafe

Bottom Line:
The lightest available. But... not strong enough, at least when you are big. Especially wobbly, when you happen to use a light fork, too, as you will when you want to use these skewers. The bike is definitely more stable with solid steel ones. An the clamp mechanism is not awe inspiring either: there is no clear cut end point of the closure move, and the thing might just get into the way of the spokes. So I use the tune hubs (black) with Salsa CroMoly skewers, which suit nicely with respect to function, coulour and finish. To say something nice about tune: those tune hubs are top notch. I've used them for four years now, and they work splendidly under a heavy weught rider (220 lbs).
