Strengths: I personaly put it through hell, It's a beast rim, it's a true rim still.
I'm a downhiller and i do put things to the test, this beats my expectations.
Weaknesses: Really reliable.
Bottom Line:
A really strong rim, won't let you down, looks like a monster rim, strong, and reliable. The rim won't let you down.
Similar Products Used: Double track rims, tough (not as strong as double wide rims) and strong, true.
Bike Setup: I got a 2004 GIANT dh team, with cris king head set, bomber marazachi forks, rock shox coil shock, double wide rims front and back. F.U.N stem and seat,

Strengths: handle big drops like a champ and can deff take a beating.
Bottom Line:
very nice rims deff preferred for every rider. but i need to get a new one i have destroyed my front rim it has a major flat spot in it.
Strengths: Strong as hell, will never bend if you lace it well. Never pinch flats, increases the volume of your tire so you can run really low PSI, down to 15. Makes your bike look scary.
Weaknesses: Majorly wide, makes your tire square, but its not too bad.
Bottom Line:
I run a doublewide only on my back wheel. Ive found that I typically need a stronger wheel on my back, and this rim solves that problem. The rim isnt actually that heavy, its just wide enough to scare small children.
Strengths: ^the price is 0$ because i got them on a bike.
they're really strong if they're new and not used (see below)
Weaknesses: i got a bike on ebay and it came with doublewides on it, and today i was changing the tire and i noticed that the rim was cracked at the weld seam (look under the doublewide label and you'll find it). my local bikeshops mechanic said he had the same problem with his. i then looked on my back rim and it was also cracked.
Bottom Line:
really good and strong. i'm going to order a new pair sometime soon to replace my current cracked pair. they're beefy weigh quite a bit though, but thats not a concern for me.
Bike Setup: 2001 bighit, 2002 shiver DC, SRAM everything, doublewides, wtb timberwolf & nokain gazzaloddi, diablous cranks, MRP system 2 (i bent it)

Strengths: super duppa stronnnggggggg!!!
Weaknesses: none so far... these rims are built for the kill... those who take weight as an issue are not downhillers or urban riders. other rims cannot take such abuses. try mounting thin rims and go big... and tell me if it is such a nice ride...
Bottom Line:
every hardcore rider who takes much abuse must have this rims... (set aside professional riders coz they have sponsors to replace every broken bike part}

Strengths: I just bought my third piz-air. No joke this shizza is tough. Yeah they are heavy, so. More resistance going up, more encouragement going down. People one the subway are like: "Nice bike, Why are those wheels so big?, That is fat!". see what I mean. Few rims can do that. Very few.
Weaknesses: You will doubt yourself after 2000' of granny. It's just the altitude.
Bottom Line:
If you are readinig this I suspect you already know. Deep down you know, you know like there is a turnpike in jersey, like you will never catch me, that you already bought these rims. You are only trying to justify your compulsive, imune, and irresponsible ego, defending itself from the Super critisizing all, just like it it has... You will be daring fate, questioning " why not, this is the most fun I've ever had", and the rims will be bellow, stoic, like a plynth, humbly supporting it all.
Similar Products Used: None for the price. get me?
Bike Setup: Irrelevant. If you have a 2 brain cells, rub'em and you'll fathom "DOUBLEWIDES"

Strengths: INSANE!!!! i beat the SH*T out of these rims! i ride street and do fu_kin wall rides with these mothers and jump off every thing i see, case made dirt jumps, still nothing, and to think i thought bigger wheels fall out of true easier than 20" rims....
Weaknesses: *** MUST HAVE DISC BREAKS*** but n e one knows that. their only weekness is children, bc they have to be ran over, and small rodents to make road kill.
Bottom Line:
im used to riding a 20" BMX volume destroyer frame with heffer pro's, one of thses rims is the same weight as both of these rims, it has to be. these rims are so wide every one is gonna have to look at how amazing ur bike looks. best rims ever made, especially if u beat the hell out ofr ur bike.
Weaknesses: Finish chips easier than anodized rims
Bottom Line:
This is the strongest and stiffest rim I have ever ridden or used, the stiffness was noticed instantlly. This was the first wheelset I built, took my time and asked the pro's for advise, no problems. Yeah its heavy, but only about 50 grams more than Doubletracks, so who cares unless your a weight weenie.

Strengths: They are only as strong as you make them. They are tough rims, mainly because they are so wide, they can handle a wide tire, a 3.0" tire shouldn't be on anything else but a doublewide or something of this size. The wider the rim, the better the performance of the rim. But it all comes down to who strung it...if you are making a wheel for the first time...dont, you'll screw yourself, they are hard to string, so let a pro do them, and get them checked after 25 miles to double check. other than that, these things are rougg and tough rims!
Weaknesses: They are no modo's or deemax's but for the price, they are great. I would recommend a Sun doubletrack or an Intense Ma 30 over the Sun Doublewide, but if you want it fat, this is as big as you can get...I am a trials rider myself, so i use 47mm echo and koxx drilled rims, so i know about flat spots and dicking around on rims...and if you dont know how to ride or land right, you will break these rims, or get flat spots... for the price u can import a koxxdrilled rim...which id recommend if you're a fair weather rider, but real downhillers, stick with a dh rim, the drilled rims get the tub wet and you'll get flats all day if you go dhing in the rain..
Bottom Line:
If you want fat rims, this is for you, if you want something wide, for 2.5+ tires, id reccomend a Mag 30, but the sun doubletrack is pretty much the same thing for about 20 bucks cheaper... if you want to mix it up, go with a doubleTRACK on the rear for strength, then a doubleWIDE on the front with a bigger tire for good control...little weaker, but like 10mm wider, makes a 3.0 or 2.7 tire look like a square, SO NICE!
But if you dont ride hard and just have alot of money...buy 2 doublewides, and pimp out your bike, it looks cooler...

Bike Setup: My dh bike: 2003 Foes DHS Mono, M frame, black, Sun doubletrack rim with a kenda 2.7 on the rear, sun doublewide and an intense 3.0 on the front with the ti-currnet shox and the new Manitou Dorado DH 180
Strengths: Absolute bombproof, pinchrestitant. Great shockdamping, big footprint, so allot of grip, because your tires are wide and sqaure on thise rims. Looks awesome. def.eyecatcher.
Weaknesses: Hard to treu for a mechanic, because of the stifnnes of the rim. Not so fast rolling as smaller rims. With a lighter weight.
Bottom Line:
I have used these rims for 2,5 years know, and i have only had a few dents in the rearrim. A couple of times it's has been trued. 2 times. But afterall i love these rims. I have beat the living sh*t out of them. And they still are going strong. I trust my life on them. I go for something that is durable instead of lightweight, wich i have to replace every year. I would by them a second time. Great product, but a bit heavy to. But i got used to that.
Purchased At: I purchases a pair secondhand from a friend for 70 euros

Weaknesses: BIT HEAVY, SLIGHTLY PRICEY(BUT ITS WORTH IT)
Bottom Line:
THEESE RIMS ARE THE DOGS B"%%&^*S ITS HANDELLED 10 foot drops to flat running my tyres at a small 40 PSI with ease, ive been nailing theese rims off rocks, trees, walls and not a single complaint about them they are still as true as the day i bought them. Strengths: Tough, no pinch flats at very low pressures.
Weaknesses: Heavy, MSRP is expensive
Bottom Line:
Rim was ridden hard on the front end for 2 years and still going on original build; broke 2 freeride frames using the wheel. Dropped, jumped, XCed, ridden for DH and stunts. Had to re-tension the spokes only once. It has all kinds of little dings on the outside edge buit it still spins true. Great durable product by Sun. The weight is a matter of personal preference; it doesn't prevent you from doing anything, it's a question of feel/personal preference. A great, low maintenance rim for riding rough or rocky terrain: no pinch flats! Too bad they're pretty expensive.

Weaknesses: there not free to safe people, pros bah, nonsense. we use these products everyday.
Bottom Line:
like people say no rims and wheels are perfect but ur as close as ur gonna get with these badboys.just remmember these rims will handle anything as long as ur wheel builder is spot on, other wise ur gonna get problems. if they broke tomorrow i would go and buy another set. for weight conciouse riders out there, ur in the wrong catagory, u need cross country, weak jay boys.
