Strengths:    none

Weaknesses:    bend easy and they also get flat spots to easy

Bottom Line:
i like the design and everything of this rim but i tried a simple 540 and it bent in about 5 or 6 spots and it destroyed my $200 hub and bent all my spokes if u need a cheap rim then i encourage you to buy it but if not then in my opinion i wouldnt buy it

Strengths:    Inexpensive, Wide, Option for rim brakes or disc brakes

Weaknesses:    Durability and Weight

Bottom Line:
Thees are marketed as low cost durable rims. They don't really go out of tru easily, but they do develop flat spots. I think the metal is too thin or soft. I have gone through three pairs due to flat spots. They are also heavy. For the price these sell for it's really inexpensive.

Strengths:    Very strong, stays true after many hard hits.

Weaknesses:    Only weakness is that more people don't use it and offer it on wheelsets.

Bottom Line:
Great rims for the money, I've only tried 32 hole. Can't find any other rim that is as good.

Thinking about building a 36 hole rim, that should be a strong rim.

Strengths:    stiff, strong

Weaknesses:    none

Bottom Line:
I've had a set I bought on special with XT hubs for years now with no problems. I've never trued them or thought about them. I didn't realize how much my other wheels flexed until I got those. I got another set custom built with Hope hubs 6 months ago and their even stiffer. Couldn't ask for more.

Strengths:    Look sleek by bmx standards as well as light, welded joint, strong too

Weaknesses:    Only some mean expensive (read WTP Phoenix) and some bargain (read Harx Backtrail x3) bikes use them

Bottom Line:
These rims rule!!! They are light and strong and look slick. They are not chunks of cheese like Alex supra g's (my brothers eastern one buckled and he does jack) but mine have only needed to be trued twice in six months of park riding and crappy landings.

Strengths:    It's a great rim especially for it's price to strength ratio.. i've had this rim for a little over a year and never had it trued once...and i don't exactly ride easy... i don't huck 20 footers but i do some light downhill, freeriding, jumping, everything, just not to the ultimate extreme.

Weaknesses:    i guess it look kinda lame,, .... if you have the money get something better like an mtx but if you can't afford it this will work fine for most of your hardcore needs.

Bottom Line:
it's a great rim, definatly not the best but it works fine for me and i do pretty large drops, i've landed pretty hard on stuff that hurt me alot more than the rim, i've gone to whistler on these things, i've crashed on them, i've cased my back end so many times it's not even funny anymore but, these rims always come out strong and ready for another run, I love them and hope to keep em for another year but your never know when you might do something stupid that'll rip them to shreds. and i don't know how people break these off bunny hops, thats just stupid, if you tune it right the first time they will last you a long time

Strengths:    Double Walled, Eyeletted Nipple seat, Welded & Machined Brake surface, Staggered Nipple pattern, 32h, 36h, and 20" 36&48h bmx rims available. Absolutely cheap in comparison to other rims of similar strength & weight

Weaknesses:    Non triangulated yet rectangulardesign causes these rims to be weaker than most.

Bottom Line:
I jumped 3 stairs to flat and got a flat spot right on the seam and split it both on bmx and mtb. Identical problem occured with friends haro who has sun rhyno single walls. - he rides easy on his bike. This rims design is flawed and has a serious weak spot around the seam of the rim. Sun says the rims is welded and machined yet i think they mean they glued and bondo'ed it.
5 for value. Cheap, decent strong, yet 3 flamers for overall rating. Seriously flawed design.

Strengths:    light.

Weaknesses:    i bought these because i found some reviews online saying how they are "tough as nails" etc. the first jump i cased the rim went out of wack. i wouldn't reccomend these if you're a hardtail dirt jumper or a downhiller like me. theese rims are def. xc rims for sure. nothing else.

Bottom Line:
it is not a downhill/dj rim like it says in other places online for sure. trust me i know from expierence (it would be an amazing XC rim) i give it a 3 for the downhill cagatorie

Tough rim for the money if your on a budget buy this rim or wheelset with this rim. I have been riding on a set for three years now. i trued them a few times but are still in excellent shape. No need to spend more money on flashy wheels. i ride all types of terrain from downhill to concrete parks my opinion all wheels look the same when tacoed period! you can buy 3 wheelsets for the price you pay for a bigger name and get the same qaulity.rim brakes or disc you choose.

Rhyno lite XL 36 hole wheelsets

Anybody know where to find pre-built rhyno XL (the welded version) sets w/ xt hubs and 36 spokes? 32's are everywhere but i can't seem to find 36's. Or even the regular Rhyno (pinned) w/ 36 spokes pre-built? Needed for loaded touring bike. Gracias.Read More »
