Strengths:
very strong, rigid, tires never wobble, for how long i have had them and abused the crap out of them i never had any problems and never had to respoke them or tune them.
Weaknesses:
ummm. they aren't disc brake compatible which sucks because i want disc brakes but i love these rims
Similar Products Used:
alex rims.
Bike Setup:
trek 4900 with michelin tires(best tires ever)
Bottom Line:
these are excellent rims i do really big jumps constantly all day and land on flat ground on hard dirt so they have to take alot of impact i think everything else on my bike will break before these rims ialso do some cross country and alot of times i run into trees at high speeds and these rims never break no matter how big of a jump i hit there excellent for everything there There BEASTS

came on Trek 7000
Strengths:
This wheel came on my (used) '95 Trek 7000. I have ridden them for >2 years 3-4 times/wk. These wheels have been simply great. With all my riding I have done only only very minor 1-2 adjustments of single spokes to maintain truenss. No 'hop' whatsoever has developed. The bearings finally died last week. Wish I could get same bearings/axel but looks like too much trouble. So I am heading out to the market hoping to find value like these to replace these GREAT VALUE WHEELS!!!
Weaknesses:
none to report in my 2-3 years riding this regularly
Bike Setup:
hardtail XT groupo
Bottom Line:
Great utility. trust them.

from Michigan Date Reviewed: July 31, 2004
Duration Product Used:
1 Year
Strengths:
Strong, and not heavy. Haven't had it readjusted yet. I have the bike for about a year now, with technical trail riding with some jumps.
Weaknesses:
Can't find any really
Bike Setup:
Tassajara Disc with specialized racing seats, clipless, endbars, and Duke XC.
Bottom Line:
Well, these rims are strong. Really. I only weigh around 145, but trail riding, jumping off stuff, going over rocks and doing technical trails, these rims still hold. No tire wobbling here. These rims are good. But I guess if you weigh 200 pounds and doing extreme downhills with ridiculous jumps, then I don't know.

Bottom Line:
MY BIKE FEELS LIKE A MACHINE, NOT JUST SOME TINNY ALUMINUM TOY. THESE RIMS ADD TO THE RIGID FEEL AND THAT MAKES ME WANT TO GO FASTER. FOR THE MONEY THEY ARE A STEAL. I GIVE BONTRAGER A FIVE STAR RATING HERE.
