Bottom Line:
a good hub. monstrous axle, reasonable weight, spoke heads fit snugly in the spoke holes, nice machining, smooth. but the axle bolts tend to become rounded out. they shoulda used stainless bolts, not ti. if you have the same problem, you can take an old axle from a cheap shimano hub and thread it thru the middle of the paul axle, it fits just right and allows you to use a qr.

rigid single speed, got this to compliment the WORD hub in the rear
Bottom Line:
very, very very, nice hub. very smooth. after 3 months of riding on very rocky and dusty conditions at the end of a rigid fork there have been no squeeks, squawks, or any other noise or problems with this hub. have a feeling it may last twice as long as my old hubs.

I pretty much agree with everything else that has been posted here. smooth, stiff and well built. however, mine seem to loosen very easily. about a month of moderate riding, and twice it has loosened up beyond what i expect, even from a new hub

these hubs came standard on my bianchi boss. these are truely the best hubs around. the W.O.R.D hub (wacky one-speed rear device) is also truely perfect. there isnt much difference though... pretty much the same because 1 speed doesnt need a freewheel! anyway, these hubs are great. i've been riding them for several months now, every day. a simple adjustment here and there, and they're perfect. light weight (lighter than spots). you'll love these hubs.

Bottom Line:
The Paul front hub that came on my Bianchi Boss made a strange noise at first, but with a little adjustment and an occasional lube voila! The rear W.O.R.D. hub should stand for wonderful one speed rear device. If your entertaining the idea of going 1 speed I'm not too sure you can do better. Tried the old style canti's ...eh you could do better.

Yes the front is nice but what about the W.O.R.D! they ROCK, if you do the Single thing look no further, mine are laced w/121's, 14g, brass nips buy'em, you won't be sorry. never mind Spot, they to heavy my brother, this page resly needs a single speed area, we are out there, come on in the waters fine.

VERY NICE, AS WELL MADE AND RELIABLE AS ANY HUB CAN BE. I RETURNED IT TO PAUL'S FOR MAINTENENCE AND RECEIVED PROMPT AND REASONABLY PRICED SERVICE FOR NEW BEARINGS, WHICH BY THE WAY AS YOU CAN SEE BELOW ARE SMOOTH FROM DAY 1 ON. (JUST DON'T OVERTIGHTEN EM AND THEN GO SLOPPING THRU A SEASON A MUD)

This is amazing! It's sooooo much smoother than the shimano stuff - it just keeps on spinning! Does everything it should do, and isn't an overpriced pile of junk like the deraillieurs! The colour matches my Z1's really nicely, and looks so funky! It goes really well on my orange dream machine (Santa Cruz Heckler)... Well worth the money! - Try one!

Bottom Line:
I love my fhud DDT. It is very stiff and very burly and actually lighter than my older XT. The axle is huge (25mm) and it even bolts on to the fork. Get this hub it is stout. I am currently switching this wheel to my hard tail and puting a Hope with a disk brake on the front of my FS/DH bike.

Bottom Line:
This hub is the most cherished part on my bike. Paul makes the most beautiful bike components in the world. This hub is so smooth. I repeat, soooooo smooooth. It's damn sturdy too. I don't have much else to say except exellent machining and that it's the coolest thing in the world of bikes. 5 peppas for sure!

THE PAUL HUB IS BEAUTIFUL.MINE LOOKS LIKE A GOLD OIL DRUM.IT'S VERY SMOOTH,SUPER STIFF,AND EASYLY MAINTAINED.MINE SQUEEKED AFTER A FEW MONTHS BUT I LUBBED IT ONCE AND IT HAS NEVER SQUEEKED AGAIN.IT'S WELL WORTH THE MONEY.

Bottom Line:
I have been riding the fhub since early October of '96 an have been very happy with it so far. It is super smooth (smoother than the Ultegra hub on my road bike!). The only small annoyance was a squeak(no doubt accountable to the number of large puddles in my local riding spot) that developed in early January which went away with the application of some Triflow at the start of each ride. A great hub, a bit expensive, but a great hub!
