Strengths:    Smooth bearings, silent freewheel, overall strong package.

Weaknesses:    A tad on the heavy side, ditch the skewers that are included and shave another half-pound.

Bottom Line:
Overall great wheelset, they seem to have achieved a good balance between weight and strength. I raced 3 races on these, de-tensioned all spokes, oiled the nipples, and trued them back up. 200 miles of cross-country racing later and they are still perfect. Don't think they are quite ready for the long haul right out of the box, but go through them after a couple tough rides and they will be good forever. Don't think the stress relieving process at the factory goes far enough during the build. Ultra smooth bearings and super-quiet freewheel. Well worth the extra hundred bucks over a standard set of wheels.

Strengths:    weight, strength, durability, looks

Weaknesses:    not disc compatible, but I didn't really care that much when I bought them

Bottom Line:
I weigh almost 200 lbs. and almost never have to true these wheels. The old 221's were never straight after a good run through the rocks and roots of Hamilton Creek. I even ran over the front wheel in my truck, straight across the hub, and adjusted 3 spokes no more than 1 turn and they were straight again. I love these things. The hubs showed no signs of damage and don't make any noise. Just like new.

Strengths:    none, they are fun but week

Weaknesses:    weakness THEY DISINTEGRATE the hub body fractured and then seperated into seven fragments. ive biked on crummy rims and hubs for many years and now i ride on "goodstuff" and they fall apart. Im blown away by this. can i replace this broken part with something other than mavic. Ça c'est vrai!

Strengths:    Pretty light, and the best rim I have ever had till now, look nice with michelin tires.. :-)

Weaknesses:    Mine didn't come with disc brake compatible hubs. And front quick relase always lets go.

Bottom Line:
I have ridden a month on them hard downhill and cross country, didn't need to get them trued yet... :-)

Strengths:    Weight

Weaknesses:    Front flexs under extremes

Bottom Line:
Excellent!! They are huge amounts better than my nuke proofs but they are also a fraction of the price. The rims are rebagded X517cd's so when they need renewing its not a problem. They are the smoothest bearings I have ever felt. They look the part too, sometimes they have a slight green tint to them.
Nice!!!
